Advice pls on night feeds

Hi
I would like some advice on when to drop the night feeds pls.

My boy is 4 1/2 months old & a big lad. He's in 6-9mth old clothes and weighs 18lb 11oz & very long too.

He currently goes to bed between 7.30-8.30pm after his usual bath & bottle. He will then wake between 11.30-12am and drain a bottle then wake again between 3-5am.
He is on 6oz bottles & take most of it. As soon as I start feeding he has his eyes closed & feeds.
He is a very laid back baby & self settles very well etc.
I would just like some advice on whether I should be trying to not feed during the night? The nights feeds are not too bad for me as he goes straight back down once fed. But it would be nice to start getting him to sleep through.
I've tried giving him more milk during the day but he won't take it.

Any advice would be great pls.
Am I doing the right thing by still feeding during the night? When do you when your baby no longer needs the feeds?

Thanks in advance x

You would be best posting in the breast & bottle feeding action for advice.

From what I've read it's about 6 months - but basically when they are getting enough during the day. Mines a similar size and age and just can't eat enough during the daytime yet.

(They should be having 150 to 200 per kilo of body weight.)

I just gave ds(19 months) a night bf. He stopped needing them routinely at about 7-8 months, just grew out of it.

Thanks for your responses.
At least I know not to worry as he's still only 4 1/2 months x
