wording in xmas card - for someone going through bad times?

I know it's early...but I'm getting xmas cards written and out of the way now.
I have a friend, who has had the most horrendous year...the company she works for is on the brink of collapse, and her father who was recently and very suddenly diagnosed with cancer is not predicted to make the new year. Sending a "Wishing you a Happy Christmas and New Year" card doesn't seem appropriate. I was going to give her card when we have our next coffee meet up with our group of friends, so it would seem odd not to give her a card if the others get one. (I've asked one of our other friends and they hadn't a clue what to do either)

Any advice?

I would give her a card nearer Xmas when things may be more positive

His. Just write a normal card. Then meet her for a drink or whatever seperately. Youre over think ing in October.

How about "my best wishes for you and your family this Christmas". You could include a short handwritten letter saying you are thinking of her and offer any support you can.

Get a "Season's Greetings" card if there's no chance of a "Happy Christmas".
