Off to see Charlie tomorrow in London! Excitement has reigned for weeks and now latest email says only 5+!

Website says Parents discretion but panicking now!
DD has sat through Lion King and is capable of sitting still etc.

What do I do????

Depends how old she is. If she's four, just take. If she's two, maybe not...

Joycey29 · 22/10/2013 21:03

She's 4 and a mature 4....

I'm sure it'll be fine if she's a mature 4 - it's a guideline. Maybe be prepared to whip her out if she gets scared for any reason - you're in an area with lots of restaurants/cafes, plus the transport museum etc, so should be able to distract in an emergency!

Just taken DS to see Matilda - he's 6. He was scared at times and only just enjoyed it. If I was doing it again, I would probably wait a couple of years.

If Charlie is similiar then it's probably very loud and with some adult themes. Both stories have a darkness to them and the musicals probably play on this more than the books.

Be prepared to whisk her out- I have still not forgiven my dd for making me miss the stage show of Beauty and the Beast when she was 4 and that was 13 years ago. I bring it up regularly.......

mrsflowerpot · 23/10/2013 07:54

I've seen it. Both of mine would have been fine at four. It's quite loud I suppose which some smaller children might not like. Just go, it's really good!

mrsflowerpot · 23/10/2013 07:56

Does she know the story? Perhaps give her the potted version if not so she can followit.

Joycey29 · 23/10/2013 21:54

She knew the story well and so loved it. Not a peak out of her for 2.5 hrs!
So glad it all worked out, thanks for all your input!ThanksThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks
Definitely worth going to!

I'm sure that she'll love it ! Don't worry at all. I think that the 5y old rule is often to avoid little ones who can't sit still , etc.
