My dd, nearly 4 drew on her bedroom wall, I didn't really punish her because it was the first time, but she got into trouble and I explained why it was wrong. From then on, shes drew on her face, toys, toy box and today...... her new carpet!!!!!!!

Just curious as to how everybody else would handle this because I'm seriously running out of ideas, and vanish!!!!

Put some cheap wallpaper up one wall that she IS allowed to draw on.

Supply her with lots and lots of paper.

pens etc only under supervision and/or in a designated area - mine are only allowed them if they ask and then at the dining table. I had the felt tip all over the wall thing too but since they're rationed no problems!

I would remove all pens.

I would have art time, when the paper, pens and paints come out for supervised use.

I still hide pens and my youngest is 8. She had a particular fondness for giving herself "tattoos" ie scribbling all over herself with a biro.

She still managed to find a felt tip recently and manically scribble on her bedroom. Luckily it mostly washed off.

All I could say was "What were you thinking?" I still have no idea what she was thinking.

hide all pens, pencils, chalks, crayons, felt tips etc and only bring them out when you are actually going to supervise her drawing on paper.

Thanks, I stupidly kept putting them back in her room, so partly my fault.

I've taken them away and I'm going to have a thorough check tomorrow, I've had a word with her and told her shes aloud to colour, as long as she asks, then I can get the paper and pens out and we don't have to worry about getting messy!

She didn't get away with it the first time so I wonder what makes them think its a good idea to try again Hmm lol.
