ASD and education

my 9 yr old daughter has recently been diagnosed with ASD. She has anxiety issues at school and some of this is because she doesn't feel the work is challenging enough and is bored at school. Can anyone advise me what the school should be doing to help her and what support is available to the school too, as they don't seem very proactive at the mo. I have raised this issue with school over the years but they haven't taken me seriously until she got her diagnosis and she has had an IQ test that shows she is far above where She would be expected to be. any advise gratefully received.

You will probably get more answers if you post on the special needs board. Everyone's really helpful there :)

I have seen something recently, which might give you some ideas: www.mums-dads.co.uk/expert-advice/special-educational-needs/
But you still better should go and discuss your situation on the special needs board. I have friends whose sun was diagnosed sometime ago - none of the people who know the boy believed. So it's probably rather mild case. And now they are very concerned about this special needs certification because (here comes "not sure" part - I might misunderstood or remember wrong) you are not very flexible with education after that and authorities might not allowed to do something you want or force you to do something you do not want. Anyway at least their school was evry helpful.

Thanks for that info. Just started on mumsnet so was a little unsure what to do. I'll have a try on the SEN board as you suggested.
