Choosing a bike shed

This is pretty small stuff in the scheme of things. I am buying new bikes for two older kids as their Christmas presents from me. I have a bike myself, which I haven't used much in last couple of years due to working out of town and then being pregnant. Now in a position to use it more. We live in a terrace so I am thinking of getting a bike shed for the front garden, as it is not great taking muddy bikes right through the house every time we want to use them. I am basically choosing between a wooden shed and a much more expensive metal one by Asgard. The wooden ones are not very secure, would be easy to remove locks or just kick in the doors. On the other hand our bikes are not top of the range or anything, and a metal shed actually would cost more than the combined value of the three bikes, so a metal shed might be a bit OTT. Any tips/thoughts/experiences very welcome.

We have a metal shed in our front garden and it has been there for several years now with no trouble. No need to stain the wood etc...the choice is yours of course and I wish you all safe cycling.

we have a wooden shed at the side of our house that opens to the front garden. A determined thief could jemmy the door open I'm sure, but hasn't yet. The lock is a proper one on the inside with a keyhole that we fitted, so couldn't be removed like some of the padlock arrangements that you see. If it's reasonably difficult to force it open, then provide you are not in a high crime area the fact that it's in the front and visible from several houses & the road should deter people I would think.
