Mumsnet Bloggers - I'm not sure I get it.

I?m struggling with this ? after some initial technical difficulties I managed to contact Bloggers Admin who told me to send them my details and they would manually sign me up. This was on the 17th October and I?ve heard nothing since. I?ve just checked and I?m not listed on the Bloggers Network so shall I assume I?ve been unsuccessful?
What happens when you are accepted?

Grrrrrrrrr. I actually have quite a nice blog. I'm rather proud of it in fact.

busty oh does that count? clicking on your own posts? in that case, that is my traffic. I am not sure what a 'good' amount of traffic is, but I know I get a small amount. not that I am complaining, as those who come are frequent visitors, even if they are MNers feeling sorry for me Wink

BustyDeLaGhetto · 30/10/2012 21:44

I think it only counts on different computers, Pavlov so for instance if i look on my laptop where i'm logged into my blog it doesn't count but if I use DPs computer it would. Wouldn't it ? I literally have no idea.

Katese11 Many thanks for taking the time to read it. Twitter is still a bit of a mystery to me - I struggle with the brevity of it and most of my 'tweets' (is that right?) are usually just arse. But thank you, will follow back if I can figure out how!

Loving the blog! Have followed you and on twitter too :)

I really need to start hitting your charity shops though... mine are touching the pricey side these days. £6 for a dress. £6! Wasn't even new with tags!

:o

BustyDeLaGhetto · 30/10/2012 23:13

CharlieEtc how much for a dress? Honestly, I've moved from Brighton and the prices there were outlandish. There aren't enough Shock faces in the world to describe how much they'll charge you for a polyester nightie with stains circa '74.

The thing with the charity shops here - and I'll probably do another blog like that at some point as there is SO MUCH GOOD STUFF - is that I've had to start sneaking stuff into the house as DP doesn't think we need it (no aesthetics, that man) and we are very skint. So this week I've smuggled in a little china deer (50p) and a pair of AMAZING leggings (£1.50) and a set of coasters (£1).

Oh, and a cute leather purse (75p)

And another scarf, but that's it.

I know right?!

I'm on a sworn charity shop ban until we move to the next place. Have the colour schemes to the new house sorted so will spend those next months in temporary housing shopping for the bargains so the place is ready to fill when we finally get one.

Then I'll be posting about our finds. And somewhere down the line about decluttering again probably :o

Caerlaverock · 31/10/2012 07:45

Do blogs have to be mother related or can they be about anything?

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 31/10/2012 07:54

Just read your blog and loved it. Don't really get the point of blogging but do enjoy reading other people's musings on the life and sometimes get some really useful information so I suppose maybe that is the point.
Wish i had your charity shops nearby though. My local ones are full of tatty Atmosphere and Cherokee clothes at 5.99 a pop
and not much else. Do love a rummage in any case, once in a blue moon I find a bargain and it makes my day.

MmeLindor · 31/10/2012 18:53

Caerlaverock
no, they can be about anything. I blog 90% of the time about other stuff and only occasionally about parenting.

I am not good with charity shops - I used to buy books there, but in recent years have been reading more blogs than books.

ElenMumsnetBloggers · 01/11/2012 11:29

Hi Busty,

You're in Grin. Sorry for the delay.

BustyDeLaGhetto · 01/11/2012 13:17

Caerlaverock I'd say they can be about anything - and you wouldn't need to specialise either, so if you start a blog about World of Warcraft (for example) you don't HAVE to keep it strictly within those parameters.

Unless the blog police find you. Then you're fucked.

Elen thank you! Have sent photo (of my feet)

God almighty. I may have to do another charity blog after my BARGINS yesterday. I snuck them into the house past DP by telling him some made up story about how I'd just seen Pauline Quirke outside the CO-OP. I hadn't, obviously.
