Swim nappy

Right, due to an unfortunate series of events I was left to put 12 MO DD to bed and there were no nappies in the house.

So, I found her swim nappies and plonked that on Blush

DH has come in from work now with some nappies - would you wake her and change her? Or leave her?

Probably a silly question...but I don't know the answer!!

Change her, definitely. My Mum but my 23 mo in a swim nappy on Saturday night and she woke at 4AM wet through and wee everywhere.

They are designed to prevent poos from escaping but not to hold wee.

put

Yes change her I forgot to take a nappy for after swimming and put a spare swim one on but it was pointless as it doesn't hold wee.

wake her - swim nappies arent water tight (wee goes straight through) and if you dont change her she will soak her cot. Swim nappies literally hold poo from the pool and thats it. They arent absorbant for wee at all.

CarpeJugulum · 25/06/2012 21:16

I'd wake and change her.

Swim nappies aren't as good as nappies - my DS had one on due to a shopping mishap and it only lasted about two hours before he leaked.

MikeLitoris · 25/06/2012 21:17

Change. They dont hold wee.

CharltonHairstyle · 25/06/2012 21:17

Oh! I see...that makes perfect sense!

I knew someone here would give me the right answer Smile

Now to wake the sleeping baby...The humanity!

I hope she settles again well, but you've done the right thing changing her now, hopefully before her sleeping bag and sheets are wet too!

CharltonHairstyle · 25/06/2012 21:41

I've done it - changed and back to sleep with minimal leakage.

I'm such a friggin' novice!

Thanks again Smile
