Hi, I am in a bit of a moral dilemma, kind of wrestling with my own concious.

I have a coffee table in my front room, it was built by my late grandfather, the wood is beautiful and it has a draw either end and a sunken in chess board design in the middle, it was a big hobby for him.

Unfortunately I just don't have the room for it, it's dumped in a corner at the moment taking up much needed space, especially as the family is expanding this year.

I have asked all family members if they want it or could store it but to no avail. I don't have any outside or offsite storage.

It would be awful to get rid of it, it's the only piece of my granddad left and there is so much care and attention put into it, on the other hand I'm not sure I can keep it forever. WWYD?
Keep it and give up the space that is quite needed atm or sell/give to charity shop?

I could say let go of it.
But - I was really brutal when it came to some of my dad's things. I got rid of a small side table that he'd made himself. It was lovely, but we already had enough furniture.
I regret it sometimes.
Have you got an attic? I have other furniture that he made up there, so i don't feel so bad about the little table.
So, if you really love it, keep it. if not get rid.

Maybe if you have to get rid take a picture before you do. Yo will still have memory than.
This is someone who had a coffee table with a dodgy drawer though just because it belonged to my mum so personally I probably wouldn't be able to do it.

There is no way it's fitting through the loft hatch sadly.
