E mail from Facebook [[email protected]] saying

"Your Facebook account was recently logged into from a computer, mobile device or other location you've never used before. For your protection, we've temporarily locked your account until you can review this activity and make sure no one is using your account without your permission.

Did you log into Facebook from a new device or an unusual location?

  • If this was not you, please log into Facebook from your computer and follow the instructions provided to help you control your account information.

  • If this was you, there's no need to worry. Simply log into Facebook again to get back into your account.

I cahnged my password because when i went to log in from the favourites page in Explorer it said an attempt had been made to access my account from Jamaica, and if that was not me I should change my password. So I did. Now I am worried that it is actually a scam that I have changed my password...

No, I've got this message before, when I logged in on my new iPhone, and on the computer at work etc.

should be fine Smile

I mean, no, its not a scam...yes, its a genuine message

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 28/03/2012 12:32

I've had this message from Facebook before

I think it is genuine but you can't be sure that it's not someone copying a genuine message that Facebook use

I changed my Password too, I logged in the normal way rather than clicking on any links to the log in page.

BusinessTrills · 28/03/2012 12:35

This one is probably genuine, but the usual rules apply.

Don't ever follow links in emails like that.

Always go to the appropriate website directly (Facebook, PayPal, whatever it is) and log in there.
