Wwyd with a dirty nappy in a hotel?

This is a little random and probably obvious. But what do you do with soiled nappies if you're staying in a hotel?

I don't expect or want the cleaner to move them - or is that what you do?

Or do I change baby in baby changing facilities only?

Going away just for the weekend with ds1 and six month old ds2. Not sure of the etiquette?

Sorry for such a silly question!

I'd probably go down to the "proper" loos and put them in the bin there (assume most loos like that would have them). I know that would be whilst my DH laughed at me and said I should just put it in the bin in the room as to a cleaner, rubbish is rubbish....!

....fine! Stupid iPhone

We always leave a tiP for the cleaner so hope this goes some way to alleviate it

MsEltoeNWhine · 02/01/2012 00:11

I used to take a wetbag and store them in the bathroom.

BertieBotts · 02/01/2012 00:13

Wet ones I'd definitely put in the normal bin, in a plastic bag though. Pooey ones I wouldn't want stinking out the room, so I'd put them in a proper nappy bin probably.

wonkylegs · 02/01/2012 00:51

We did lots & lots of hotel stays when DS was a baby thanks to DH's stupid job and we always just bagged them well and popped them in the bathroom bin. Nappy bags within carrier bag if particularly noxious.

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 02/01/2012 01:12

Thanks for your replies.

I still don't know what I'll do but like the tipping cleaner idea, never thought of thatBlush

Just don't want someone else cleaning up my baby's dirty nappies, just seems a bit rude to me, but carrying them about is a pain and so is changing him elsewhere.

Only for the weekend though, hey!

Do you never put them in bins then? I didn't but we use cloth and took them home and washed them.

cheesesarnie · 03/01/2012 21:39

or ask hotel what theyd prefer you to do?

Get0rf · 03/01/2012 21:41

Double wrap them in carrier bags and put them in the bin in the hotel bathroom.

I don't think they need to be smuggled anywhere. Rubbish is rubbish.

SoupDragon · 03/01/2012 21:41

Bag in a nappy sack and put in the room bin.

PurplePidjInAPearTree · 03/01/2012 21:41

Sanitary towel bin?

tigana · 03/01/2012 21:42

In a bag (or 2..or 3) in the bathroom bin.
Cleaner will empty the bin by tipping upside down or pulling out liner bag, not fishing about for each indiv item, yes?

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 03/01/2012 22:04

I put them in the bins if it's a baby changing room, because any cleaner going in there would expect to find nappies.

But I just wondered what to do with them in a hotel as there is no nappy bin - as it were.

Think I'm going to ask them when I get there what other customer's normally do there.

Thanks everyone!
