O seasoned parents, could you please advise the correct response?

..when another (bigger) child lamps/ shoves your small one?
DD was pushed over by an older lad; she isn't one to cry easily (she's 1.5) and just looked a bit surprised about it, to be honest. Lad's mum comes rushing in and starts telling him off: "Now Aeldred, you're not to push the little girl. We said that pushing is BAD and NOT NICE. Look at how upset she is!"
Pause while Aeldred (not, obviously, his name) looks at self and DD. I'm giving DD a hug and say "are you OK smallfest? you're being very brave"
Lad's mum: "Now say sorry to the little girl"
Lad - "No, I won't say sorry. She's not hurt. Her mum said so."
Lad's mum: "But she must be really upset because you pushed her over, so you must say sorry"
DD: "See saw?"
Is there a response? Mine was 'Glad you're OK smallfest, we'll go on the seesaw then", but should it have been "Aeldred's sorry he pushed you, shall we shake hands?" or something? FWIW, if DD ever pushes or knocks into someone my response is 'No pushing! Say sorry! Are you OK ?"

Just think yourself lucky you had a parent who addressed it properly Smile

I would just say thank you to the parent and carry on, leaving said parent to engage in heated discusion with child as to why they should always say sorry.
