Didn't know where else to put this but how do you decide on pricing home made cakes at a fundraiser - price them at market value or sell at realistic price to sell everything. What is the going rate for cupcakes ? A large sponge cake? Help !!!! Got a fundraiser tomorrow and no idea what to price stuff at !

school fairs round here sell for about £4+ for big cakes. But fairly affluent area.
For cupcakes, if they're batched up in 6's, maybe £3.
Maybe start higher and reduce price if not selling?

Good luck with the fund raiser!

I would agree with Bleugh. 50p is fine for a cupcake although if they are particularly big or fancy I would increase that. Selling things in batches of four or six is also a good idea if you have boxes etc.
Big cakes tend to go for about £3.50 - £4.00 depending on size. In the past if our large cakes have not sold we have sliced them up and sold them for 30-40p slice.
Hope it goes well.

Thanks everyone, we priced the large cakes at £3.50 and cupcakes at 30p or 4 for £1 but we had so many that we wanted to make sure they went. All in all a good fundraiser for my 16 year old daughter who has been picked to go on an international guide camp to Finland next year and has to raise £1500!
