Happy Sundays everyone. I have started the week with a rant about the Zara Mike non story in the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. Here.

Grats! Pouting again through email lol

MmeGuillotine · 04/10/2011 16:33

Today, I am discussing my thoughts on Downton Abbey so far and also, embarrassing considering my blog post about fancying him was quoted in newspapers, admit that I've gone completely off Mr Bates because he's so bloody wet.

There's also lots of nice dresses to look at.

FlamingoBingo · 04/10/2011 17:01

Hello everyone! You've all been very busy today!

Blogrolls - I had one...then removed it :D Instead I do a weekly links post to actual blog posts - feels more of a personal recommendation for a reason than a blogroll IYSWIM.

MmeGuillotine- am saving your post to read later. Loved the last one and want to relish it with a cup of tea and no children :D

Oh, and I am making a very exciting plan...#justsaying

FlamingoBingo · 04/10/2011 17:02

Gertie - love that treasure chest! Your twitter button isn't working, btw - have you changed your Twitter name?

GertieGooseBoots · 04/10/2011 19:09

Thanks for the tip-off FlamingoBingo, I don't know why the twitter button's not working. I've changed the button I was using and I think it's fixed...

TheGrassIsJewelled · 04/10/2011 19:44

I just got approved. I'm very much a newbie, but you can see what I'm trying to do here. Feedback very welcome (constructive/negative/whatevs).

DillyTante · 04/10/2011 19:57

Hello all, thanks for all the lovely comments on my blog :)

Gertie, yours is great! It's good that everyone updates because I do forget to read them but I enjoy them when I do.

angie80uk · 04/10/2011 20:40

Hi guys,

Just received an email from MN, my blog isn't approved as I have a fair amount of reviews on it, and MN prefer blogs with fewer reviews than mine (see Sponsored Post - I think that's the title hehe in the forum)

It's not a problem I can understand where MN is coming from :) I actually have more baking posts lining up but I like to keep doing reviews as well so I won't be pushing it.

I'm glad to have met quite a few nice and helpful bloggers through this weekly thread and I have most of you linked on my blog roll already, so I'll be keeping myself up to date with ur blog :)

Keep up the good work

GertieGooseBoots · 04/10/2011 21:11

Thanks Dilly! You will make me blush, all of you saying nice things, thank you. There are so many really interesting posts to read on this thread, except I keep getting sucked further into people's blogs and losing half hour chunks of time... Between that and Mumsnet, the kids will be raising themselves if I'm not careful!

MmeGuillotine · 04/10/2011 21:25

Oh no, sorry to hear that Angie. :(

GertieGooseBoots · 04/10/2011 21:46

GrassisJewelled - I really like what you've done with your pictures, I like how they tell a story alongside the story, if you see what I mean.

Angie - sorry to hear that too, I've got you on my Twitter feed now though so will watch out for you on there instead. The Redlove apples look bizarre but delicious...

yorkshirecath · 04/10/2011 21:54

Hello :)
Am new to Mumsnet so Hi!
I've recently blogged about my favourite subject, food!

Waldorfhome · 05/10/2011 00:29

I'll remember to read the Downton thread too, and House of Eliott was lovely post from here last week! One of the few I found time to look at.

I just have a new post about straw work, and some, not too confusing I hope, instructions:

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2011 08:29

Good morning. It's nice to see new faces here . This morning I have blogged about the BBC and why you in the UK are so lucky to have it here

OP posts:
FlamingoBingo · 05/10/2011 08:29

MmeGuillotine - Loved it! :)

Angie - that's a shame, but glad to have you on my Twitter stream, so do stay in touch!

Welcome to the newbies. Will catch up with your blogs today sometime, but am working on Womens Views on News this morning - have a blog post scheduled to post in an hour or so - will pop on to post a link here :)

FlamingoBingo · 05/10/2011 09:21

Here you are: evidence that crying in arms is not bad for babies, in the same way crying alone is.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2011 09:29

interesting FB - have commented.

Angie
Sorry to hear that but good to have 'met' you and I will keep up with your blog on twitter.

Hello new people. Will catch up later.

For some reason the scheduled posting is not working. I had my posts for the week written in advance cause we have visitors.

Anyhow, here is my favourite dinner party dish. One pot chicken and ham pie.

MmeLindor. · 05/10/2011 09:47

Sorry.

FlamingoBingo · 05/10/2011 10:06

Love that recipe MmeLindor! Have commented :)

MmeGuillotine · 05/10/2011 10:31

Thank you Waldorf and Flamingo (and Queen Maeve - I saw your comment the other day but my laptop crashed and I forgot to reply! Sorry!)! I'm having a My Blog Sucks Crisis at the moment so it's nice to hear that people are enjoying it! :)

FlamingoBingo · 05/10/2011 10:36

What?! Why, MmeGuillotine?

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2011 10:46

Not as much as am enjoying your book MmeG. I was reading other stuff so took me a while to get into it but will be posting glowing review on Amazon this weekend (when I expect to finish it!) Sorry its taken me so long.

OP posts:
PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2011 10:47

Though obviously am enjoying your blog too, just loving the book

MmeGuillotine · 05/10/2011 11:03

Thanks so much, Petite. I really appreciate it! :)

Flamingo - I feel a bit down about the whole thing for no real reason and have also had a professional set back of sorts that I can't talk about publicly without sounding really petty and a bit unhinged!
