I dunno Bumper; I just think it is a bit patronizing and unpleasant to come onto a light-hearted thread and tell 600 people you are ashamed of their hypocrisy. How is it reasonable for you to be ashamed of us, or our collective behaviour? We're all adults; you are not responsible for us, we don't represent you.
I didn't post on the NOTW threads on MN myself, but even if some people did post both there and here, IMO it's really absurd (that is what I meant by "rich") to suggest that makes them hypocrites. The OP didn't say much and most people probably skipped the bulk of the thread on the assumption it was hundreds of "ooh, me too" posts. I for one assumed it was all about something light-hearted.
I still don't know what it is (ahem, everyone), but even if it's not light-hearted after all, I am not going to beat myself up about hypocrisy for being curious about an OP offering a distracting little bit of gossip in the "sleb twaddle" topic. It is a pretty far cry from paying the Murdoch empire to feed me scraps their vultures picked from stories of serious crime.
