Wedding invite acceptance - to whom should I reply?

I have received a wedding invite from a friend, and it is worded, "Mr and Mrs Bob Earl request the pleasure of your company at the wedding of their daughter...." as I suppose they usually are.

My question is this - in RSVP-ing, do I address the acceptance to the parents (Mr and Mrs Earl) or to the bride and groom??

I have bought a wedding acceptance card from WHSmiths (not sure if this is a good idea/tacky, but that's another question) and the card says inside, we are able to attend your wedding, which made me question who this acceptance should be sent to!

If anyone has any suggestions, fire away!

Many thanks!

You should reply to the parents.

You address the reply to the person issuing the invitation, so in this case it's the Earls.

Can you add the word "daughter" after the "your"?

If not, save the card for a future next wedding, and just write out your reply in ordinary writing paper.

Thank you for rapid replies! Silly WHSmiths impulse buy card, trying to lead my response astray! Wink

What meditrina said (you address the reply to the person issuing the invitation).

Writing paper for the reply, not a corrected card.

Yes, writing paper with the following.

Takewhatyoucan thanks Mr and Mrs Earl for their kind invitation to the wedding of their daughter x to y at place on date and is delighted to accept or sadly unable to attend.

Or something along those lines.

Address the envelope to Mr and Mrs Earl.
