DD has saved up £70 - should she be allowed to spend it?

Just listening to 8y DD and DH discussing this matter.

DD has been savng up her pocket money and didn't spend her birthday money in April to put towards it.

She now has about £73 or so.

She wants to buy the Sylvanian Families mill. It is £60 on Amazon at the moment.

She already has SF toys. She is getting some more smaller sets for Christmas. She has now big SF home.

Should she be allowed to buy it now?

If you think no, why not?

DD has just ordered the mill, a dining room table set and a small living room set. They should come next week.

I have also ordered, using her Christmas money from great grandad, a master bedroom set and a nursery bedroom set - both items she expressed an interest in. They will be for Christmas though.

She is very pleased with herself.

Oooh, there will be great excitement in the Hula household when all that arrives!

What she doesn't know either is that for her Advent calendar this year (in past had Playmobil ones) we have found the reuseable calendar with pockets in it and I have bought the SF Christmas set, which I will split up into packets for each day :)

Glad you let her. I am in my 30s and STILL RESENTFUL that my parents not only vetoed the My Little Pony clothes I had saved for, but actually stopped my pocket money for a while "because you've got enough money to be going on with"

Shock Angry

I was always on DD's side. DH is a born saver and invester, has been since a child. But even he caved once he saw everyone else agreed with me, lol.
