she was so much part of the family that she had inherited from a grandparent alongside their 2 older children. She was one of the family, totally - I have no idea how she did when she moved on. Poor lass

My good friend is a foster carer, this nearly happened with her DD. They had to take the LA to court as they argued she wasn't a "ethnic" match. The judge was absolutely livid with the LA. I think she was about 4 or 5 when she got the adoption order and they'd had her since she was just a couple of days old.

Thank you so much. Its people like you who make me want to be a better person and be there for vulnerable children.

You mention 'we', is this yourself and your partner?
I don't think my partner is overly keen on this type of caring and therefore would be very difficult to convince him. How did you first discuss with your partner this line of work? X

I don't have a partner, I am a single mum, I say "we" referring to my birth children and me

As someone who needed social services and care as a child. A deep heartfelt thank you. I remember the kind adults who helped me and the example they set. You change lives. I grew up and had a stable family of my own and a successfully career. I don't think many would have predicted that 20 years ago ❤️

I am interested in this type of fostering when I’m older (in my mid 50s) and my kids have grown up. Would you say this is too late to start?
