@AnneLovesGilbert also... the other added benefit (equal to clothes!) is that food no longer dictates my life. I didn't realise how much of an emotional crutch food was for me. Now I eat to survive and don't overeat, nor is it something I give much thought to...

I did really struggle with it in the first few weeks post surgery as I was tired and sore and food would have ordinarily been my comfort... it's a big mind shift.

Best of luck but I’ve never known anyone to survive past 5 years.

Well you haven't met me then !,
8 years post gastric sleeve abroad.
BMI 42
20 stone
BP in the upper distaste zone
Diagnosed with type ll diabetes
Steroid knee injections every three months to alleviate the pain of carrying so much weight .

Post op. 13st pretty much maintained. Not a size 10 as I would of hoped but healthy as 5'7..

No drugs except multivitamins.
Hike
Swim
No knee surgery required

No heart disease.

Best £3500 I ever spent on myself .

Have you suffered with loose skin after the weight loss?

penguinkisses · 02/09/2023 22:19

@Name99 Yes I have some. Tummy and upper thighs are the worst part. Surgery is an option but I'm going to see what I can do with exercise first.
