As I know I've seen a few posts and people are often curious about it
I also work for a luxury car brand but I don't think anyone would have questions about that Grin

I tried it a few years ago by following instructions very carefully. I still can't make head or tail how it works out but I managed to make about £60 profit before running out of money to put into it.

How much money is the most you have bet?

How much have you made?

How much time does it take up?

YesQueen · 22/08/2019 19:36

So I probably turn over (not as in spend but recycling really!) £5-6000 a month. It sounds a lot but realistically I'm probably doing it with an actual bank of about £500

Profits - I didn't track them when I first started so it's difficult to say. I do low risk casino which you can lose on, but not much loss hence the low risk. The most I've lost in a week is £60, the most I've made is £390

Time - I probably do an hour a day? More if there's something big on sports wise

OP posts:
slipperywhensparticus · 22/08/2019 19:38

Is it worth it?

YesQueen · 22/08/2019 19:40

@slipperywhensparticus for me, yes. I can do it at night when I'm watching TV. On a very good month it makes me over £800, and I can put as much or as little time into it as I want
It's meant I don't have to work a PT job alongside my FT one

Hi, I've been tempted to try but I'm also quite frightened by it as by nature I'm risk averse.

I know there are online guides etc, what would you recommend. where and how do I start, it all seems so complicated.

loofascrub · 22/08/2019 19:51

Over £800?! I really need to start doing this properly. Do you do it all through low risk casino?

ColonelCathcart · 22/08/2019 19:52

Do you need to be good at maths and/or probabilities?

YesQueen · 22/08/2019 19:53

@Seagullslanding there's a guide on save the student website which is what I followed (whilst going oh shit, right, I can read and I can count, I can do this!) Grin
Then I did a bit of googling and looked at team profit and oddsmonkey and joined the FB group team profit newbies

OP posts:
YesQueen · 22/08/2019 19:53

@loofascrub not all, I do maybe 3-10 bets a day on sports and the rest is casino so probably split 25/75

OP posts:
YesQueen · 22/08/2019 19:55

@ColonelCathcart nope. Providing you can add and subtract and read things carefully then no
I would say reading the terms and conditions is the most important as some have small print like "bet must be over X odds)
The odds are all in decimal (you change them on the websites) which makes it v v simple
I also use a free matched betting calculator where you plug the numbers in and it tells you exactly

Junobug · 22/08/2019 19:57

Sorry to hi-jack. I also do matched betting. I only make about £400 a month though. I would really, really recommend the Team Profit website and fb group. They have idiot-proof youtube videos and guides.

riotlady · 22/08/2019 20:03

I worked my way through all the introductory offers a while ago and made some decent money but I’m not sure where I go now? Do you just wait to be emailed offers? Is it really worth shelling out for oddsmonkey?

YesQueen · 22/08/2019 20:04

@riotlady I would join the Facebook groups if you have Facebook. They post a lot of daily offers on there
You've got stuff like golden goal, refund if horse comes 2nd, bet clubs

Botherfreedays · 22/08/2019 20:07

Ok. I've never bet on anything in my life. I have no idea what matched betting is, but I'm curious. Is there a complete beginner guide that you would recommend?

Seagullslanding · 22/08/2019 20:11

Thanks, I've just found the guide on save the student.

I looked at matched betting before and thought it looked complicated Does it get easier once you understand what you are doing?

YesQueen · 22/08/2019 20:12

Definitely the save the student guide. I had never been on a betting website before and at first it took me ages to work stuff out
Now I sign up for bookies in my sleep and shove bets on while the kettle is boiling

OP posts:
YesQueen · 22/08/2019 20:13

Oh and I looked a couple of guides before I started, read them all and was so confused. Not associated with save the student but it is so step by step! I think it took me about an hour to do the first one

OP posts:
YesQueen · 22/08/2019 21:29

Tried to copy and past three weeks profit and loss so will see if it works. Matched betting is risk free, low risk casino is (obviously!) LOW not no risk hence the losses

I’ve tried to read about it many times and just got completely confused. Is there a good website that is completely idiot-proof that explains things?

thenightsky · 25/08/2019 21:32

I also work for a luxury car brand but I don't think anyone would have questions about that

Wrong!

Pilchardsky · 26/08/2019 08:44

I've been matched Betting since January and have made £9.5k. I'm gubbed from pretty much every bookie now though so my betting career has reached an end.

HollowTalk · 26/08/2019 15:04

If it's so easy then why don't people earn a lot more?

TheOvulator · 26/08/2019 21:57

What do you class as low-risk casino - what wagering requirements are acceptable to you?

Seagullslanding · 31/08/2019 10:25

@YesQueen I'm getting myself ready to start, I've read the tutorials and the blogs, I've also opened a separate bank account.

How much should float do I need to have to start. Would £50 In the betting exchange cover me until I get going?

Also what time of day is it best to do matched betting. I was hoping to try and do this midday or early afternoon. is this feasible

thanks for your advice so far.

YesQueen · 31/08/2019 10:57

I fell off the thread! @thenightsky happy to answer
