I don't know if anyone will. But I've suffered from severe anxiety, Depression and PTSD. Feel free to ask me anything!

How long do the worst periods or episodes of depression last, e.g. days, weeks, months?

Does anything anyone does for you help at all? Like I assume people acknowledging and being sympathetic to your difficulties helps? But can people talk you down during an anxious episode? Does someone just dropping off a meal or similar make you actually feel better in yourself?

Holdmygirl my worst eppisdoe lasted almost a year. But normally it's a few bad weeks then maybe 1 good week x

Happyspud alot of the time when I really anxious I find it easier if no one talks to me for a bit so I can get my head around it all my self. Most of the time though small kind gestures go a long way! Helping with housework, helping prepare food, and just having a friend pop over for a half hour to say hi can help alot. Just knowing people care

I don’t have anything to ask you but just wanted to show solidarity with the anxiety / depression (no experience of ptsd). I’m currently in a bad period, been off work for a month, likely to be sacked, can’t pull myself together at the moment, it’s bloody awful.

Has the NHS helped at all during your low periods?

RavenLG thank you. Its tough to go through especially when someone who experienced it doesn't understand how difficult it is. I've been off work almost a month aswel now, luckily I work with my mum so she knows what's going on! I hope things get better for you soon

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe firstly I love the name😂
The NHS has some what helped but they are struggling so much I've waited over a year to see a counsellor and then when I got to see one she cancelled half our appointments so I left her and now I'm back at step 1 again

Why, thank you!

I’m not surprised to hear about your NHS experience, what did you do to stay stable during the year wait and now at step 1 again?

Thank you for posting.

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe. When I felt extremely low I would usually call Samaritans or a different crisis team to talk through how I was feeling. I'd try and occupy myself as much I physically could with either drawing, or watching TV shows/films, I'd try and get out of the house as much as my anxiety would let me. I'm lucky I live with supportive mum and my boyfriend who moved in a couple years ago has been a massive help to me! Right now I'm trying to focus on getting our own flat and starting my own business which has been a massive help aswel!
