I think it will be quite therapeutic in some ways.

Which profession?

CatherineCawood · 05/11/2018 20:17

What was your job and what did you do wrong?

Lwmommy · 05/11/2018 20:18

What profession?
Why?
Are you still working in this field?

Rachelover40 · 05/11/2018 20:18

Poor you, that must have been frightening. Still it was 'nearly'. Some people are struck off from professions but not permanently.

I hope all is well now.

coatsandats · 05/11/2018 20:18

Did you know at the time you were making a mistake/doing something wrong (even if "just" not keeping your paperwork in order) or did it come as a shock?

Hellooooo · 05/11/2018 20:19

Teacher and yes I still work in that field. I didn’t do anything wrong at all, but I was falsely accused of dragging a student around a classroom by his foot, amongst other things that were true but were taken vastly out of context.

To be honest it’s ruined my job for me, although I still do it.

Are these details a bit too identifying? It's not hard to find hearings online with details of the allegations and often the teachers are named. Perhaps you should have mnhq take this down?

Hellooooo · 05/11/2018 20:28

No, i didn’t have a hearing but thank you

I was reported to the regulatory body. It was horrendous. I had solicitors letters and terrifying bundles arriving in the post. After six months they finally informed me they were taking no further action.

How did it get so out of hand? Did the child continue to lie? Did the other children lie too?

Hellooooo · 05/11/2018 20:34

Bizarrely it wasn’t the child himself who lied but two other students.

I can never know. The school lied and lied, claiming I had had meetings about my conduct when I hadn’t.

I was suicidal at the time and so very stressed.

I just want to say I'm very sorry that happened to you.

Hellooooo · 05/11/2018 20:38

Thanks mother Smile

That's horrendous OP. I'm so glad to read they listened to you and saw that nothing untoward had happened.

I don't know how you stepped back into the classroom. I don't know if I could have gone back.

anatol · 05/11/2018 20:44

Are you still in the same school?

Hellooooo · 05/11/2018 20:47

No ana, I resigned but you are only supposed to be referred if dismissed or resign before you are dismissed.

Table, it was really hard but I missed teaching.

WineGummyBear · 05/11/2018 20:48

OP I'm sorry to hear that you had such an awful experience.
I really hope that your school has been supportive now that the charges have been dropped

savagebaggagemaster · 05/11/2018 20:48

Did you union help at all?

Rachelover40 · 05/11/2018 22:53

I'm so sorry, it must have been really horrible for you.

Thisisit777 · 05/11/2018 23:29

I’m so glad you got through that nightmare 😔 sounds horrendous

NoMudNoLotus · 05/11/2018 23:40

I am going through this process now @Hellooooo albeit in a different related profession.

My employers have said there is no complaint to answer as far as they are concerned, but they have referred it anyway to cover their arses.

I have spent decades doing my job , i am so very hurt , anxious and i have been signed off sick by my GP.

Thisisit777 · 06/11/2018 00:17

I’m upset for you. So upsetting to be doubted when youve given it your all. Have a hug x
