How much did he take/spend per day?

How did you find out?

Is he still an addict?

RainSim · 13/07/2018 08:44

How did it start? Is it possible to use cocaine but not become an addict?

beentheregotthetee · 13/07/2018 08:57

@Morgan12 At it's worst it was approx £300 a day. Sometimes more on a weekend.

I knew there was something not quite right with him, I returned early from a weekend away with the kids and he had locked us out. I climbed through an open kitchen window and there was coke all over the kitchen.

I think he does still take it occasionally, I can tell just by looking at him, but don't know for sure as we are no longer together.

@RainSim he first took it on a night out at 18, then gradually it was every weekend and when that wasn't enough it was all day, most days. I think taking it over time will lead to addiction, one or two lines doesn't give you the same buzz if it becomes a regular thing.

How old are your dc? Does he still see them and are you happy to leave them with him? Have you ever taken it?

beentheregotthetee · 13/07/2018 09:19

@BarefootHippieChick my dc are 9,6 and 2.
He is not allowed unsupervised contact, I've told him if he wants to see the DC, he's welcome to the house any time as long as I am here, he occasionally joins us for days out. There have been instances where I've refused to let him come in as I could tell he was high.

I have never taken any, I don't like what it does to a person.

How did he afford his addiction?

BarefootHippieChick · 13/07/2018 09:23

That sounds very sensible. Would you ever consider getting back with him if you knew he wouldn't ever take it again?

beentheregotthetee · 13/07/2018 09:55

@SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 he had a very successful business, he sold that at the peak of his addiction, and thankfully, he agreed to put half of that into my account.

@BarefootHippieChick we tried that. A few years ago I left him and moved back in with my mum for a couple of years, I stupidly believed he had stopped taking drugs, got back together and in that time conceived the youngest, he put me through hell throughout my pregnancy. I would go grocery shopping and he would get high the minute I'd leave the house. I can't trust him anymore. I've told him we are never getting back together again unless he gets help.

Any other questions?

You are right in that you can only help those who want to help themselves. Does he regret the total waste of money it is.

beentheregotthetee · 13/07/2018 18:12

@Bananalanacake I'd like to think so, financially he's on his ass, I refuse to give back the money he gave me from the sale of his business. He's asked for it many times, I've told him I'm keeping it as a lump sum of CM.

He refuses to ask for help, he doesn't think he has a problem anymore.
