That I initially linked the wrong quote doesn't change the fact JKR compared herself to Churchill & none of your deflections will change that.

Only if Willyboy is a woman, which he verifiably isn't.

CoolforKats · 21/10/2026 22:04

Clearly not the experience of the masses of disinterested women in this issue.

As JKR said, experience shapes our fears.

That was my experience 🤷‍♀️

Quite. Men commit 98% of the sexual and violent crimes that occur. That includes the ones that cosplay womanhood. So yes, experience does shape our fears unfortunately.

Oh god, please bring back the laugh emoji😂

Plus perhaps a link to a basic course on Language And How It Works.

tobee · 21/10/2026 23:13

Crystal clear essay.

its made me so angry how the trade unions have utterly failed women on this.

I swear the standard of the drive by TRAs gets worse by the day.

My toes can’t take it.

HenriettaSwanLeavitt2 · 21/10/2026 23:16

The RSOH is always the one with the better sense of humour. Truth.

You see. It’s like this. JKR is Churchill in the same sense that India Willoughby is a woman. Not at all. Would you like it slower? Or in pictures?

You must of missed that there was a fair amount of humorous commentary of Rowling a billionaire smoking a cigar on a super yacht quoting Churchill's

"I love it when a plan comes together".

JKR was certainly onto something about elites.

Ah yes, JKR is the next Bond villain.
TRAs are as gullible as they are suspicious.

The point you are missing is we don't fear all men the same. Being alone with a old man or gay man or well dressed man or trans woman doesn't inspire the fear in people on the ground hence the support of trans women.

JKR's generalisations about men don't work in reality when it comes to personal experiences. Context matters.

You’re ignorance in understanding how social associations work is embarrassing yourself now.

LOL wasn't that a A-team reference?

Yes.

The mighty, brilliant, irreplaceable A-team, whose one-liners will be remembered inaccurately for as long as we all shall live!

Churchill for goodness sake. << sigh >>

Utter tripe. Age or a nice suit, or a dress when we can see you are male doesn't mean you might not assault us. Schrodinger's rapist. Are you really saying no old men, well dressed men or transwomen have ever sexually assaulted anyone,? Really?

I'll ignore gay men for this partly, but if I'm not sure they're gay, sure, add them to the list.

murasaki · 21/10/2026 23:39

Also, good men stay out so bad men stand out. Anyone on your list in a space where they're not supposed to be is a massive red flag.

I'm referring to women's actual experiences with trans women here just like Rowling was to explain why they don't feel threatened.

You do understand the difference between data points & personal experiences don't you?

Rowling is frustrated that women don't agree with her conclusions using her own experiences to prove them whilst at the same time discounting their experiences with trans women.

Its an incoherent position.

Yes, and actual women have had those experiences. You just choose to dismiss them.

For the love of god.

Not all women have the same personal experiences is the point & why would they given trans women are .25% of the population? That's why they don't care about this issue.

And this is part of the reason why this panic is largely ignored regardless of legal changes because experience matters & there's no amount of fear mongering that can change that.
