Well. I can only hope all the other institutions who have seemingly been stonewalling are in fact beavering away at replacing their nonsense policies with sane and legal ones.

Speaking of which, it looks as if the civil service has, in fact, been beavering away. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5589502-civil-service-bans-men-from-womens-spaces-leaked-guidance

This one is more wishy-washy and still seems to say it’s mean and not okay to not go along with delusional identities unless you are very careful.

I don't consider spaces with trans and cis women mixed. I consider them women's spaces, which I prefer to SSS, because I don't go in for bioessentialism

’bioessentialism’ here meaning ‘recognising how mammals reproduce’.

Can you not see that while this argument might be popular on certain parts of Reddit and bluesky, it self destructs on contact with reality? At best it suggests a lack of concern for anyone’s rights.

So is a penis like Chekov's gun? If it's introduced in a situation, it must go off? Is pregnancy unstoppable? Obviously, getting someone pregnant against their will is one of the most heinous and immoral disgusting things someone could possibly do, but is this a foregone conclusion?

Blueraffle · 16/10/2026 08:35

Apologies if I’ve missed it, but has there been anything from NHS Scotland?

brownbootsandhats · 16/10/2026 08:36

I agree a lot of male violence is societal driven - as rates of sexual violence vary so much around the world. testosterone also contributes and that can also be proven . When it comes to protecting and respecting women and girls , the cause of male violence is less relevant than its existence. There is no evidence that single sex spaces drive male violence . It’s not a solution that makes the problem worse

i however don’t see to why that means TW belong on female spaces because the evidence is they still behave like men having been brought up as men in a patriarchal society and with testosterone levels significantly higher than females

ans whilst you reject bioessentialism)?) you can’t explain what is replacing it in your world view

am I in your world a cis female or a trans man ? None binary gender is only accommodated strangely in the sex based world.

You forgot “and not all females can get pregnant anyway.” Tsk tsk.

I was waiting for that one. Disappointing.

“Is pregnancy unstoppable “

how insulting and insensitive. Should I get that post pulled ? on balance no - the women here are strong and used to this disgusting rhetoric and your callous disregard for women won’t do your arguments any favor.

you basically say
”don’t worry you can get an abortion if you get raped”

shows absolutely no understanding of the impact of that on women. The difficulty of choice even if they never wanted a child. It’s still at some level a child. The hormonal chaos. The lifelong guilty and trauma no matter what that woman chooses. And the lack of abortion choices in many countries.

You really are a fatuous idiot aren't you?

if you think this person is a woman who belongs with women then you simply can't and won't engage with reality

and yes we know Jessica does have a penis as Jessica famously tried to sue a beautician for refusing to wax 'her' balls

People hate this on here but to me you would be who you say you are. It's not for me to tell other people their identity and it's not my business either. I don't even understand this desire to inform others on who they can or can't be. It's not the same as saying you're an astronaut (a profession), a cat (different species), or Napoleon (actual individual that is deceased), so none of these comparisons people like to make work. There's only two options, either being trans is an authentic experience, or all trans people the world over are delusional or faking it. I do not believe the latter. And if it's authentic, the only issue remains whether being inclusive causes harm, and I'm not persuaded it does. It's not about individual crimes or misbehavior. Trans women as a group do not cause harm to cis women as a group.

trans women are men

men as a class cause harm to women as a class

popping on a dress does not negate that

I can only assume at this point that you're a deep cover TERF double agent as you're giving us the opportunity over and over and over again to point out the ridiculousness of what passes for TRA arguments and to highlight reality

borntobequiet · 16/10/2026 08:48

It’s as though the last few years never happened, with the amount of tripe being trotted out.

brownbootsandhats · 16/10/2026 08:50

but you see my brain doesn’t work like that

i know I am female because I was told that’s what my biology says

you take that away and refuse to define the word means I can’t fit myself in any category

because the brain image comes from language

there is a third option and it’s called dysmorphia. That’s an authentic experience but also a mental health issue - at least for every type of dysmorphia but gender.

but i see logic isn’t your strong point. Transwomen as a group DO cause harm to women - just look at the prison stats. You just lie.

Face blind?

I don’t give a toss about that

we know that person has a dick

that’s all that matters

what they look like is irrelevant

looks don’t make you make or female

So did you have an answer yet on why males with a trans identity should be allowed into female spaces but males without a trans identity should be excluded? Both are male, so what’s the difference?

PrancingPanda · 16/10/2026 08:54

It matters not whether you consider/believe/think/wish-it-were-true/ that transwomen are women, Totino; they are men. Born male and will die male, just as transmen are born female and will die female.

'Cis' is not needed - women will do- and has been stated many many times that it is offensive. But you don't care. Typical TRA behaviour. If any feminist/womens rights poster posted on reddit, it would be an instaban! Yet here you and your mates post freely (which is fine by the way; sunlight etc)
Kindness and respect to come one way eh?

I haven't seen stats for TW being assaulted/murdered in UK prisons?

Are you ok with accepting me, a white woman, as a black woman if I decide to identify as black?

How do you know they are “cis” women? Do you ask every woman you see their gender identity? Or are you saying that is easy to recognise the difference between a “transwoman” and a woman?

‘You are what you say you are’ is some fine philosophical theory based belief.

Queer theory relies on this.

People attempting to pass as the opposite sex are either trying to deceive others into thinking that they are the opposite sex, or forcing/coercing others to pretend they are the opposite sex.

Much of the time, sex doesn't matter. So the deception doesn't matter.

Can you think of some times when sex does matter?

Those are the instances for which the Equality Act created the Single Sex Exceptions.

It’s interesting you focus on transwomen and believe women’s spaces should be for women and transwomen.

Do you believe transmen are men? If so, you are saying you want transmen prisoners to serve their sentence in male prisons. You want transmen psychiatric in patients to be placed on the men’s psychiatric wards, transmen to use the men’s communal changing room etc.

Given the awful traumatic experience of a transman placed on a men’s psychiatric ward I don’t believe anyone who supports women’s rights and safeguarding could want a repeat.

CassOle · 16/10/2026 10:02

Sometimes people are just wrong about certain things. I don't need to listen to them anymore on this subject. They need to come to terms with the fact that they are wrong in their own time.

I am glad that this guidance has finally come out. Now we need NHS Scotland and NHS Wales to get their arses in gear and update theirs.

nicepotoftea · 16/10/2026 10:03

You can't compare staff and patients because it is assumed that staff are vetted, trained and selected in a way that patients aren't.
