"We" can always tell

Except when "we" can't:
https://x.com/CountDeadWomen/status/2110284296388739454

Note the weasel words of the thread don't actually apologise for allowing terrible people to decide the victim wasn't female because she wasn't sufficiently meeting a stereotypical view of how women should look in their bigoted opinions. The fault for behaving in a bigoted fashion is only that of the bigots and no-one else.

So then why was this account besieged by abusive gender criticals insisting that this woman was actually a man?

If you're talking about the account on X, you are making a massive assumption about who "beseiged" it. Especially considering that when the post was shared on here, the Gender Critical Feminists on this forum universally condemned it and reported the thread for deletion.

Why do you automatically assume it was GC Feminists who piled on the account insisting it was a man?
The evidence suggests at the very least, that it wasn't the women on FWR who did this, so why are you here yelling at us about it?

Apart from the thread on here that was up for several hours, you mean?

Was it up for several hours? Were you monitoring it? Were you very disappointed that it got no traction?

Is that the one that wasn’t started by a regular poster and didn’t get much support? That one? Try Twitter, you’re more likely to find the right people.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2026 22:40

I think there’s been quite a lot of discussion, no? As @Datun said, people dispute your framing of it as Mumsnetters being responsible.

That quote was from HQ. So no-one thinks it.

Not even the TRAs who are claiming it. 😁

BettyBooper · 15/10/2026 22:24

And by woman you mean ...? And by man you mean....?

Thx.

Are you having trouble with simple words? Or are you suggesting that this woman was actually a man?

alcovecupboards · 15/10/2026 22:48

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2026 22:27

Best to ask the people who did that, really. No one here can help you.

You don't think it's important to engage on a thread you yourself started?

Why did you start it? Hmm...let's guess....

Why are you trying to encourage harassment of the Counting Dead Women account?

Just for the avoidance of doubt, Mumsnet disagree that the women talking here is, er, like shooting up heroin and that anyone here was inciting harassment.

We don’t think this post, or the short-lived thread, indicates that Mumsnet users or moderators were encouraging or coordinating harassment of anyone.

What bizarre standards are you referring to?

Do you mean actually being female by any chance?

Since gender critical feminists consider transmen as women and recognise them as such in most situations, I would suggest that it's not us that impose bizarre standards of femininity on women. Or any standards at all.

helderste · 15/10/2026 21:34

akkakk · 15/10/2026 11:33

So, anyone on here who continuously posts supporting the repression of women and their rights / the takeover of women's spaces / supporting the misogynistic culture of male bullying... should on your logic be banned...

that will kill off a number of posters on here who seem to think that women are secondary citizens and that men should be allowed to do what they want with women's spaces etc...

where would your posts sit?

Well quite

Tears0fTheMushroom · 15/10/2026 20:52

alcovecupboards · 15/10/2026 14:32

They don't care. She wasn't feminine enough to pass their bizarre standards so she was fair game. It's utterly disgusting. Unless I've missed it but not a single GC person here has condemned the GC people who harassed the woman who posts the list because they had decided this woman was trans. It speaks volumes about their true motives.

What @murasaki said

murasaki · 15/10/2026 19:58

If women hadn't had to get into the trenches to defend a land grab by entitled men, then they wouldn't be entrenched.

But we did, so we are. And that's OK. The trenches are slowly moving forward again.

Shortshriftandlethal · 15/10/2026 19:48

Differentforgirls · 15/10/2026 16:49

No point. They are fully entrenched.

What's with the " condemnation" thing? Seems to me it belongs in the same stable as public virtue signalling.

MarieDeGournay · 15/10/2026 19:29

Differentforgirls · 15/10/2026 17:31

The main thing I have witnessed on here about GC woman and men, is the need to tell people who aren't transphobic, to shut up.

What a skewed take on a respectful suggestion.

SereneUmberBiscuit · 15/10/2026 19:00

Hmm. Fully entrenched in being a biological woman. How did the interests of 51% of the population become "indoctrination"?

JamesKirkupReviewWritersFund · 15/10/2026 18:12

Lexi still at work, not noticed the comment MN made about not having received a report from Lexi about the original thread… oh a passing bandwagon, scuse me!

FlirtsWithRhinos · 15/10/2026 17:59

The irony of

"You shouldn't be talking about this at all, it's disrespectful to the dead person and their family"
"OK, maybe time to let the topic rest in peace?"
"OMG don't tell me to shut up!!!"

Every accusation, as they say...

FlirtsWithRhinos · 15/10/2026 17:55

I find it very weird how some posters seem to think admitting ignorance of the topic upon which they have been confidently posting is some sort of power move.

This isn't Too Cool For School club. We aren't 12. Women aren't suddenly going to give up Feminism in embarrassment for actually caring about it when they could be all cool and Not Bovvered 😂

Funny. The main thing I have witnessed on here about Genderist women and men is, when asked to explain and justify their position with evidence, they cannot.
