"We" can always tell

Except when "we" can't:
https://x.com/CountDeadWomen/status/2110284296388739454

Note the weasel words of the thread don't actually apologise for allowing terrible people to decide the victim wasn't female because she wasn't sufficiently meeting a stereotypical view of how women should look in their bigoted opinions. The fault for behaving in a bigoted fashion is only that of the bigots and no-one else.

From what I can actually tell, the only mistake was not double-checking it before making the announcement.

It could easily have been TRAs and their supporters misreporting to disrupt a feminist and proudly sex-realist account.

If it happens again, I think they'll double-check first before making an announcement.

No it wasnt. It was people who think their GC views mean they can do things like this and get away with it. All because a woman didn't have big enough boobs or something.

Yeah, it was awful and.I've seen no apology from her. The poor woman's family have been attacked as well.

Perfect example, sadly, of how transphobia affects all women. Why anyone's would transvestigate a murdered woman is just beyond me. Who does that?! Who believes that women are made safer by it?!

If anyone's first thought on seeing a report of a murdered woman is "but what if she was trans" then what you're actually telling the world is it's fine to kill trans women. That they don't count. That they (and their families) are fair game, have committed a terrible deception - and don't deserve respect.

if your sympathy for a murdered woman depends on her appearance of chromosomes, then you're a misogynist.

No-one on this thread has any reason to trust anything you say.

The account was attacked by GC people because they believed the murdered woman was trans. Members on this board shared it to amplify the attacks. They didn't care about this woman - they just saw a trans person being murdered and decided it was fair game. The fact that she wasn't trans didn't matter to them - she wasn't sufficiently feminine enough for their liking. The hypocrisy is vile.

Thats fucking disgusting. Anyone who had a part of that should be ashamed of themselves and banned from the site

"Why anyone's would transvestigate a murdered woman is just beyond me."

You know perfectly well why. Both men's crimes and men as victims are being misrepresented when, as happens quite often these days, a male criminal or victim is recorded as female. It's a distortion of the truth. Some of us still care about the truth.

You would like to see emotions trump reason, and feelings prioritized over the objective. Those of us who care about the truth are trying quite hard to stop society moving backwards to a time when people made decisions based on their feelings. Feelings are not a reliable guide.

Another BS thread. 👎

Orangerowanberries · 15/10/2026 06:56

So men set out to deceive woman and steal language so women can no longer trust what is reported, meaning every time a report mentions a woman the question has to be asked ‘was this actually a woman?’ But it is somehow those trying to determine the truth who are at fault, not those trying to fraudulently misrepresent it?

I didn't say I was the first. Please try to be accurate.

Jesus - yes, that's the spirit of the message here - whether you were first or second to 'call out' <eye-roll>

Not that you're projecting reasons for others 'calling it out', or that you persistently 'call out' so much that it means very little. And not that you apparently have poor comprehension (probably performative mis-understanding) because the 'she' is obviously the OP of the thread in question.

FlatCatYellowMat · 15/10/2026 06:35

That is not what this was at all. Counting dead women highlights femicide. No-one's saying it's fine to kill any man, just that that account only highlights women, because when it was started, there was a distinct lack of care about women who were murdered.

No-one is fair game. No-one should have 'gone after' any family on twitter.

The difficulty again, is that when news is persistently mis-reported, it makes people suspicious and some people go too far. If Karen had a source which gave accurate information on victim's sex, this wouldn't be a problem, but because sex and gender-identity have been muddled together, both attempting to use the same words for different concepts, that can sometimes go wrong.

Doesn't make any of the abuse coming at Karen, or that went to the families of the victim acceptable.

You relentlessly call everyone out for literally nothing so no idea why you think you are some sort of social warrior hero for 'being the first to call her out'.

Whoever 'she' is. Or was.

I'm beginning to think this is going to be the sad end of FWR, when you compare it to the strongly feminist and pro-active contribution it made during the period on consultation on self identity.

And no doubt one of the contributors to MN having lost quite a lot of users.

Shedmistress · 14/10/2026 21:55

alcovecupboards · 14/10/2026 21:36

I was the second to call her out. I also called out her transphobia (because that's what it was) and then was criticised for calling it such. The others wanted it deleted so they can continue to pretend that there's no transphobia on here.

IwantToRetire · 14/10/2026 21:52

There is no transphobia on here.

This forum is for those who support women's sex based rights, which isn't transphobic.

If some one who doesn't believe in women's sex based rights keeps complaining because contributors to FWR post on the basis of this shared belief, what is their motive. Its as dubious as if say they did not share a Marxist analysis but they spend all their time going on thread for those who did believe in Marxism to endless go on about how Marxism is wrong.

Particularly when MNHQ were supportive enough to set up Feminist Chat for those who want to "be kind".

Seems that even in the virtual world women aren't allowed to define what they belief, nor are allowed a "safe space".

Did you call her out? Or did you use it as a stick to beat FWR with? As you continue to do. Of course according to you no one could want it pulled because it was distasteful, only because they wanted to ‘hide the transphobia’.

alcovecupboards · 14/10/2026 21:36

BackToLurk · 14/10/2026 21:01

One person, who you’ve decided represents FWR, rather than the posters who called her out.

Why don’t you start a more wholesome thread. I’m sure you had some pressing matters that you thought should be discussed here.

I expect for many people it wasn't about how feminine she looked, but that they were told she wasn't a woman and accepted that uncritically.

And then felt the need to harass an account because it shared her pictures. What lovely people. No condemnation here, I note.

IwantToRetire · 14/10/2026 21:28

Just think how many threads we could all start about instances where someone on social media makes an inaccurate report, and it get taken up by others.

More and more FWR is about anthing other than women's sex based rights.

I wonder if the "be kind" Feminist Chat forum is also being bombarded like this.

Shedmistress · 14/10/2026 21:24

So this has nothing to do with FWR at all?

Right ho.

DworkinWasRight · 14/10/2026 21:20

Well, I’d have thought our activist chums would be delighted at further proof that trans women are a very safe demographic. Unlike women.

Scout2016 · 14/10/2026 21:19

Yes, clearly the problem here is not the fact women are being murdered by men, or that men are pretending to be women. And that those men are more likley to murder than be murdered. It's that someone who campaigns against violence against women and girls made an error then apologised for it.

If you want to talk about opposing gender stereotypes, what makes Tommy think he should be Tammy if it's not wanting to wear "women's" clothes and a vague feeling on not being whatever his idea of male is? Why does every narrative about a "trans" child start with a stertype like they always played with dolls and wanted to wear pink sparkles, never with trucks and mud so they must be a girl?

StealthTroublemaker · 14/10/2026 21:04

Wasn’t there a poster a few days ago started a thread on the Cornell rape incident but used it as a platform to scold women on here for not talking about it enough? Do you think this is another thread like that?
