In particular and without limitation the Second Respondent contends that the Claimant’s purported belief in “the integrity of explanatory and evidence led medicine” (“the MI Belief”) is in reality an opinion or viewpoint, does not relate to a weighty and substantial aspect of human life and behaviour and lacks cogency and cohesion

I think R2 would have had a better chance if his defence was just that it wasn't a belief because it was an opinion or viewpoint whilst accepting that if it were a belief it would be substantial, cogent etc

I come from the Left but in the past decade or so my real aversion is to anything that looks like faith-based ways of seeing the world. Whether that's on the Left or on the Right. I'm actually much more forgiving of religions being faith-based because at least they're honest about where they stand.

BlueLegume · 14/10/2026 21:23

Wake up and not ans ⬆️

BlueLegume · 14/10/2026 21:17

Polarised is a perfect word @nauticant

It kind of explains the ‘no debate’ mantra of the trans world or recent history.

I have always felt pretty centrist but the trans movement are pushing me right of centre. Mainly because safeguarding of children is imperative.

We shrugged off Cyril Smith as a cuddly uncle. We pandered to Jimmy Savile as a bit odd but good because he raised money for charity.

No more. Odd behaviour is a red flag. It is that simple. Wake up ans stop pandering,

nauticant · 14/10/2026 21:10

It's a variation on how some people see the Left-Right division in this incredibly polarised age. In general, many on the Right see those on the Left as misguided, or wrong, while many on the Left see those on the Right as evil. It's a massive generalisation but I have to admit to seeing some truth in it in the circles I move in.

BlueLegume · 14/10/2026 20:53

If we all sat down and had a sensible discussion about the whole trans debate my contribution would be simple. Because I believe in the reality of sex does not mean I hate anyone. I just cannot lie to someone who cannot accept themselves to make them feel better, I won’t be banging on about it but I would encourage therapeutic support not surgical.

Being bombarded with the fact therapy is hard to get,I understand that. As a parent in such a situation I’d rather take a loan out or remortgage to get good ethical thoughtful therapy for a confused or uncomfortable child.

My gut feeling is a trans activist or supporter would see me as the devil incarnate.

David Bell was a whistleblower at the Tavistock. The Times ran some pieces about his concerns. Hopefully they can see that Hannah Barnes and Nick Wallis, along with Naomi Cunningham are not firebrands. They are supporting and reporting clear evidence of lack of safeguards and wrongful prescribing to minors.

This is not bigotry or transphobia it is the manipulation of society to fit the narrative of trans,

I appreciate this is not the most important take-home from today but - that's actually made me sputter my tea laughing 😂I've seen that advert hundreds of times, how did I never notice his slopey-ness before??

You were too busy looking at the hair, face, and chest, all of which are great to look at, whilst wondering if he'd take his jeans off!!

But the shoulders!!

Just NO!

Dr Sam Hall gave evidence at the inquest of a trans-identified young person who sadly took his own life in 2022.

It is astonishing. I've not worked in the public sector, but I am certainly aware of private companies that will pay you to go away and shut up rather than face any sort of legal action like this.

My employer puts a lot of work out to tender. One of the questions on the pre-tender checklist is "Have you ever been taken to an Employment Tribunal?" You won't be invited to submit a tender if the answer is Yes. Private sector employers will move heaven and earth to avoid an ET.

I wonder how many referrals go on to be told they might NOT be born in the wrong body and require transing?

Hmmm.

Let me think...

Kids counselling listed as £50 per session. New patient session £200.
In case anyone is interested!

Maybe a curious journalist could make a booking!

Evidence-based medicine is an opinion now?
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Just when you thought it couldn't get any madder. How I long for those innocent days when I thought the world would become better and more rational as people acquired more knowledge.

I didn't bargain for the level of obtuse idiocy that can endure even as someone passes all of their exams.
