Apologies. My suggestion wasn't meant to be taken seriously, hence the '😁'.

Mmmnotsure · Today 16:33

@MarieDeGournay That may be this case – pencilled in until the end of next week but now not in court, subs on Wednesday, and done.

JanesLittleGirl · Today 13:07

You did better than me Marie. I didn't even get an out of office.

Hmmm... limited success, I got this auto reply
Thank you for your email.
I am in trial from 5-23 October 2026 with limited access to emails

He gives the email address of a colleague to contact in his absence, but that's for legal business I guess.

Let's hope that this is one of the emails that he has access to. Dr SR will get our good wishes eventually.

I suspect that is mostly intended as a polite way of saying, " if you ask me complicated legal questions I will ignore them until my head is a bit freer", so with luck yours should make it through.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
✔Version as at 10.50 sent to her solicitor.

It's very formal, I hope she read between the lines that we're cheering her on cos think she's brill and we'd love to show our appreciation by standing her a drink or two at the Bluestocking, or something😃

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · Today 11:02

Perfect. Thank you.

@MarieDeGournay I'm feeling a bit mean in hindsight about adding to your burden. We really don't want you to have to do nine versions! I think on this occasion, take the Judges advice. Do it once, and we know you'll do it well!
Míle buíochas.

I've managed to do it to 3 or 4 drafts not nine - gizza job, NHS Sussex, I'd be much better at it than your lot😂

Tá fáilte romhat, a Kitty agus romhaibh go léir
You're welcome Kitty and everybody.

'Terven' would require a footnote with definition.

If we're not listing names (sensible) I think the usual phrasing would be to start 'I'm writing on behalf of a large group of Mumsnetters' and to sign it only from yourself. There isn't really a convention for collective sign offs without names.

Ooooh that's a good solution, thank you BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn!

'I'm writing on behalf of a large group of Mumsnetters who have been following the Redvers v NHS Sussex tribunal remotely via Tribunal Tweets and Nick Wallis.

We would be grateful if you could pass on to Dr Sarah Redvers this message of appreciation and support.

We admire her strength and resolve and her commitment to the safeguarding of young people. We send her our best wishes.'

I'll sign my real name as it's from my gmail a/c.

Howzat?

I love @MarieDeGournay and she knows i do she is so lovely

Thank you Hedgehogforshort that's such a lovely message, it means a lot, sometimes I get sneered at IRL for 'being so nice' but I don't care, it's how I am and it's good to get positive feedback about it.

It's funny to think that it comes across even though I this is an anonymous forum and I am <spoiler alert!> not really 'MarieDeGournay.' I could have invented a confrontative, stroppy, mouthy online persona, but I didn't😒

It's also funny that the only time I've had a post deleted by MNHQ, it was because I hadn't been nice enough to one of our scolding visitors, I was excessively unpleasant or sarcastic or something!

@MarieDeGournay It was 37 likes when you posted, I hope it is still rising but some people may have missed the suggestion of a like on your post as a means of expressing support. With the exception of our TRA visitors I'd expect all users of this board, including the ones who dont actually post, to support Dr Redvers as she's been trying to safeguard young people from medical malpractice. It's a medical scandal that she has needed to do this.

Thanks dino, I was interpreting the 'likes' as 'we think it's a good idea, go ahead Marie' rather than individual usernames being added.

I love 'a terven of MNers' but I don't think it's in keeping with a formal, neutral message [pace MyThreeWordsSmile]
Any other suggested sign-offs?
and no, I won't be added our pronouns😂

Sounds good please include my support. Thanks

EdithStourton · Today 00:42

A terven of MNers 😁

MarieDeGournay · Yesterday 22:25

I'll check in tomorrow to see all the suggestions etc.
G'night all🌛

KittyWilkinson · Yesterday 22:08

That looks fine to me @MarieDeGournay Thanks so much

I have sent an email to [email protected] (Sarah's solicitor) with the heading Dr Sarah Redfers saying how wonderful I think that her stand has been and that I would be grateful if he could pass on my support if he thinks that it is appropriate.

That 'breaks the ice' so another email won't be out of the blueSmile
Draft #2 of 9
Could you please pass on to Dr Sarah Redvers a message of appreciation and support from those of us who have been following her tribunal remotely via Tribunal Tweets and Nick Wallis.

Some Mumsnetters

It was not my intention to list usernames, and I was thinking of NOT mentioning the Feminism: Sex and gender discussions board, just 'some MNers'.
Any better was of saying 'some Mumsnetters'? A group of....?

DauntlessDamson · Yesterday 21:24

I'm sure that, having Charlotte Elves as one of her barristers, Dr Redvers will be aware of followers on both TT and Mumsnet taking a keen interest in her case.

ETA So it probably wouldn't come as too much of a surprise if she receives a message of support.
