Barbie has been housed in Limerick’s women’s prison since turning 18 following release from residential care facility for minors. They are kept in isolation 23 hrs a day and never share any space with female prisoners.

I do wonder though are female prisoner officers exposed to Barbie.
Barbie is an extremely troubled and dangerous person.

thecountess.ie/limerick-prison-the-rights-of-female-prisoners/

Then why can't they do this in a MALE prison where he belongs??

KalimbaMoon · 16/03/2023 23:06

This person is beyond terrifying and shouldn’t be anywhere near women. It’s a tragedy waiting to happen.

ScrollingLeaves · 16/03/2023 22:59

B K is very dangerous and in a women’s prison. They have not had surgery and I think not hormone treatment either. They have self-IDed under the Irish system.

I notice BK was sexually abused as a child, and was also put into care - both known to be factors behind gender dysphoria though on the petition to have her moved from Limerick women’s prison it says people think B K doesn’t suffer from gender dysphoria.

There’s no media black out, it’s all over Irish media.

Gript Is not a reliable source, the owner is extreme right wing, contributes to the Irish Catholic publication, is openly anti pro choice, anti vaccine. anti same sex marriage, the list goes on.

That link was to an article from 2020. At that time, there was an injunction out and yes, there was a media blackout. Further details in some of the links I supplied upthread.

That may have changed for this new news.

As for the political purity of whatever publication, that's entirely irrelevant.

Username721 · 16/03/2023 22:49

The photo of this individual is like something out of a horror film.

IwasToldThereWouldBeCake · 16/03/2023 22:45

BK was sentenced today, it was not on the national news (RTE) or TV3. No mention of it. That's weird.

That's because there was a media blackout!

The most vulnerable women placed,
in prisons with men, then faced
with the deluded view of power,
who say that it is okay to shower,
with a man who rips eyelids away,
but apparently that is okay,
because it is more important to say,
that men can there, that is the way.

IwantToRetire · 16/03/2023 22:30

Not wanting to divert this discussion but just adding this disturbing story in the news:

A trans predator who raped a friend with ‘her penis’ was convicted of having sex with an underage teenage girl when she was a man.

Lexi-Rose Crawford was an 18-year-old biological male called Dominic Risden when he was jailed for four years in 2017 for having sex with the girl he met online.

It is believed the trans predator will be sent to a male prison if she is given a custodial sentence for rape, despite being referred to as Miss by lawyers and Judge Michael Longman throughout her four-day trial last week.

Slightly off-topic musing, but if they are housing prisoners based on 'gender' and this is being treated as legitimate by the powers that be...

Then surely someone identifying as non-binary could get out of going to prison on the grounds that is nowhere for them to be housed?

Redebs · 16/03/2023 22:20

Soubriquet · 16/03/2023 19:42

Makes you wonder why he identifies as a woman if he hates women?

Because forcing himself into women's spaces and mocking women are ways of showing his hatred.
There's a lot of it about

BK is a horribly disturbing case on so many levels.

Added to which is the bizarre idea that keeping anyone in solitary - necessary, I understand, because of him being a danger to women in the prison population - is in any way more 'humane' than holding him in a male prison.

How the hell this story hasn't peaked Ireland, I do not know. I suppose the forementioned media blackout will mean many are not even aware.

It's tragic that I'm grateful there is reporting on this.

There was a time where it felt like there was a media blackout on kardashian.

That's because there was a media blackout!

"These are the offensive anti-Irish posts on this thread, so I don’t know how you can say rubbish"

Why is truth anti Irish?

tellyoumysinssoyoucansharpenyourknife · 16/03/2023 21:30

I'm Irish and agree with the 3 comments above, not anti-Irish in any way.

All true facts

WitheredandOld · 16/03/2023 21:28

This is the same man who violently assaulted his social worker. He’s very, very dangerous. I can only hope these cases prompt the “be kind” brigade to have second thoughts.

Clearly Irish politicians give zero fucks about the safety of vulnerable women.

Timingiseverythingcoll · 16/03/2023 21:11

If someone is incredibly dangerous to women - we should house them with in the same prison as women because…?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 16/03/2023 21:05

I wonder if our usual TWAW apologists will be along to defend this one

DysonSpheres · 16/03/2023 20:58

I actually feel sick reading this.

Northernsouloldies · 16/03/2023 20:47

The last place this creature should be in is a women's prison.

Meltychocolateteapot · 16/03/2023 20:46

twitterexile · 16/03/2023 20:36

Rubbish.

‘Ireland's misogyny runs deep’

‘women are fairly far down the pecking order in Ireland still’

And ‘I expect nothing less from the land of paedophile priests’

These are the offensive anti-Irish posts on this thread, so I don’t know how you can say rubbish.

Timeflieswhenyourehavingfun · 16/03/2023 20:44

Winederlust · 16/03/2023 19:45

But they could just as easily have the same set up in the men's prison, surely?

Due to self ID law Barbie is female.
