It didn't look like anyone was convinced by the "predatory lesbian" take. I think the "women get raped anyway so who cares if it happens more" argument is no longer carrying the weight it once used to. Sorry, India, I know you like it.

I'm new to this and I’m loving Ella and I’m sorry I laughed at the 'predatory lesbian' preference

whats all the reference to black people. Ah just watched India's twitter 'explanation'

Argh. It winds me up.

You have to be an actual woman to know the difference in feeling you get in an enclosed space with a male stranger, compared to a female one.

You are de facto not a woman if you think that a woman will feel as on edge around another woman (lesbian, straight, bi, butch, androgynous or feminine), as she would with a man.

It reminds of that incel ages ago mansplaining menstrual product usage to women-

he thought you use one sanitary towel a day during your period and he did the maths based on that, as a gotcha, about women/girls complaining about the cost.

🤦‍♀️

So clueless about women’s lives, you don’t even know where to start.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 03/02/2023 00:27

I wish someone had asked IW for the evidence on the bullshit that transwomen (no space, because men are not a type of woman) are 20 x more likely to be attacked than women?

Scaping the barrel with the predatory lesbian nonsense.

People so gutless that they can't even state that a double racist is a man. Pathetic.

Ella is right that it's about reality and facts. The majority of the audience seemed to agree with her.

UrsulaPandress · 03/02/2023 00:22

Just watching the Kelly Jay spat with Windy posted earlier. Whatever happened to Miranda Yardley?

I'm not on Twatter and can't access the poll. Am I right to assume that it concluded that IW is a dissimulating puddle of bum gravy?

There you go!

I can’t actually believe that real grown up adults are discussing which men should be allowed to go into female prisons (Elizabeth Fry must be rolling in her grave), and that we should trust the prison service and their risk assessments - given they were about to let a rapist into a female prison. I can only think that they don’t think rape is a serious crime.

Everyone in the world knows exactly why prisons are segregated on the basis of sex, EVERYONE knows, unfortunately it doesn’t take much imagination…we just know.

But now people are too scared to say that people can’t change sex for fear of being called a name, as Ella said, it’s an undeniable truth that we can’t actually change sex, no matter how kind we are. And as we know, male offending patterns do not change (even for those that would like to think they can change sex) when they ‘transition’.

I am fed up of adults pandering to this and dancing around language, men are (statistically) a risk to women; and people can’t change sex. My 7 year old knows why her elder brother now has to change in the boys changing room after swimming…she is fucking 7 and she gets it.

Everyone who is not quite there yet, we must start being truthful and not allowing language to be twisted. I’m done with this, people can call me what they want, but if our collective actions stops putting women at risk, we must continue and tell the truth - they think by calling us names we will shamed and shut up, we must not, our shame is nothing compared to what vulnerable women are experiencing in prisons (and other places) all for the sake of being kind.

Favourite snippet from Twitter this evening...

"Before social media people like that would simply spend their days standing at bus stops and arguing with pigeons."

TutiFrutti · 03/02/2023 00:10

Petition signed, thank you for the link.
IW was utterly incoherent

And strangely no deletions on here as Windy is busy elsewhere tonight.

Then Someone who knows how needs to archive it now.

I don't have a clue

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 03/02/2023 00:08

Amazing. I must admit, I’ve been hoping for a repeat of this classic tv moment:

(although I wouldn’t want it to be Amanda standing downwind again, she’s endured enough already)

I cancelled our TV license so as a law abiding citizen I shall wait for the Newsnight clips to appear.

But I am extremely interested to as if Spiked cover this tomorrow - If Ella needs some time off to catch her breath after India Willough-Me sucked all of the oxygen out of the TV series, I’m sure her colleague Brendan has a few thoughts he’d like to get down on paper…

Yes very worth watching and listening out for a few remarks said by India.

Just a warning though you may find yourself shouting 'fuck off ' a few times......rather loudly.....or maybe that was just me.

Right, it's on my list tomorrow.

ChuffKnows · 03/02/2023 00:07

Emma Whelan is on the Spiked podcast, for any new fans. The whole group of regular contributors to that podcast see through the trans bullshit, and are very well informed about the activities of TRAs and their illogical arguments. Always worth a watch.

I was thinking that. If this thread is still here tomorrow it may well look like Swiss cheese.

Does India really, truly believe that 'she' passes, when she looks like Michael Gove and sounds like Julian Clary?

Laughing so hard I scared the cat.

is it just me or did IW say “what prison would I be sent to if I was raped?”

Several of us have pointed out that spectacular piece of idiocy.

I think this is my favourite thing I have heard in the last year

IcakethereforeIam · 02/02/2023 23:57

Kudos to all you people who could bear to watch, I can only take IW in teeny tiny doses.
