Ooh! Cancel that. He veered a little at the end of that speech!

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 31/01/2023 16:07

Caroline - Naomi

Sorry she really annoyed me!

Lord Falconer is good! She hasn't squeaked whilst he is speaking either!

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 31/01/2023 16:04

Is that Nokes being so bloody dismissive to Caroline and utterly silent when it is Robin speaking?

Needmoresleep · 31/01/2023 16:01

Pity the Committee has lost the very sound Jackie Doyle-Price. She has been constructive since before Boris when she was responsible, as a junior minister, for teenage mental health. She had some clear opposing views the last time the Committee reported on this issue.

I had the video minimised. Clicked to see which bloke was speaking now.
Oh boy.

Same! Not heard that voice before... wow.

DFSsale · 31/01/2023 15:57

Now Nokes and RMW are having a dig at the EHRC, specifically Baroness Kishwer.

Who is the woman doing the 'whataboutery'? She's maddening.

DFSsale · 31/01/2023 15:51

Is this MP a SNP one? Her manner with Naomi is completely different to her questioning of the blokes.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 31/01/2023 15:50

I could listen to Naomi read out the telephone book.

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 31/01/2023 15:47

Who is the extremely rude woman with too much make up on tapping her pen as Naomi is speaking?

I do believe Theresa May should be dragged into this. She was the first to sell women down the river for political gain.

She gets to simply bugger off into the sunset and all her after dinner speaking engagements.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 31/01/2023 15:39

Beautiful top Maya's wearing. Lovely Suffragette colours.

NancyDrawed · 31/01/2023 15:38

They are always really biased in their approach in these sessions

GreenUp · 31/01/2023 15:36

Is anyone watching, the questioners are so biased.

Ms Anum Qaisar gives Lord Falconer lots of time to give his legal view on the use of Section 35 (he's a genderist) and then starts asking Dr Foran (feminist side) if "trans rights are human rights" and does he agree with Theresa May that "being trans should never be seen as an illness.

Dr Foran is there as a Public Law expert on uses of Section 35 but the questions are just being used to frame him as "anti-trans".

Coooeeee Maya 😁

NancyDrawed · 31/01/2023 15:34

Maya has just arrived in the session as an observer!

DFSsale · 31/01/2023 15:33

I’m listening in.
Dr Foran is a very interesting chap. He’s too smart to be caught out with some of these questions, and clearly knows his subject.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 31/01/2023 15:28

Her voice isn't as nice as the 'Waiting for the conference host to join' chap.

NancyDrawed · 31/01/2023 15:25

Bumping as this has just started

Imnobody4 · 30/01/2023 23:16

Elliot Colburn is co chair of the LBGT+ APPG and friends with Crispin Blunt.
I find the membership depressing, not sure if I can face watching to be honest.
I think the GC witnesses will more than hold their own though.

Carolyn Harris - works a lot on menopause. Looks like she once supported Julie Bindel when Julie was attacked, but then deleted.

Pretty heavily stacked deck in favour of self ID. Hmm.

Shelefttheweb · 30/01/2023 17:47

How are these committees chosen? Do interested MPs put themselves forward? Or are they invited and if so by whom? And if too many who chooses who sits on it? Seems like a way for interested parties to manipulate Parliament.
