Lets get together round the pub fire this evening to raise a jar. Theres been some good things happening in the past few days.

Here’s a piece to amuse the Dino herd

I agree it's getting cold enough for the pub fire to be lit (for those of you without internal furnaces)Grin

New name!

SpringCrocus · 12/10/2021 00:43

Oh shades of DiscWorld, Sam Vines using a, Dragon to light a cigar

FurysaurusVexed · 11/10/2021 20:16

Trying out my Dino name in here.
SpringCrocus now that we have a fire breathing dragon it would be very quick and easy to light the fire. Or we can just warm our hands and feet in front of her.

SpringCrocus · 11/10/2021 19:36

I was wondering the same.

Turned · 10/10/2021 21:36

: passes digestives in happy silence: Is it cold enough to light the fire yet?

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 10/10/2021 21:03

Biscuits with your tea, @Turned?

I shall collapse in a heap with a mug of cocoa as it has been an extremely busy day.

Turned · 10/10/2021 20:39

Hello (sneaks in shamefaced at being away so long). Sequential covid here, last one out of isolation tomorrow. So I’ll just be in that quiet comfortable corner with a pot of tea and absolutely no-one that I’m related to. I will be in for breakfast tomorrow too. I might have ordered a dinosaur pin. David Lammy achieved the impressive feat of re-peaking my dh without my even saying a word.
I hope you’re ok Detroit, sounds like you’ve had a tough time. I will be going back to that song once my voice is back.

Feministwoman · 28/09/2021 22:08

Detroit, congratulations! 🎆💐🎉

Feministwoman · 28/09/2021 22:07

Dragon really likes bodies with penii, apparently. 😱🤣🤣🤣

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 28/09/2021 20:38

You are right, she is indeed a dragon.

She says we don't need to feed her, she'll go and hunt.

And @DetroitNeedsADog, congrats on getting published. It's a good feeling.

Feministwoman · 28/09/2021 19:09

Name changed! I prefer a rights protecting dragon! As to what she eats, well she likes mysogenistic people, MPs in particular are very tasty, apparently 😂😂😂

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 28/09/2021 18:06

@DetroitNeedsADog

The furniture company that donates took it back to their warehouse. I almost stole a chunk as a paperweight. Me and Buk are friends...

I'm being published in a local newspaper that benefits the homeless, they sell it on the street and get a bit of money. Book should be out late this year, possibly early next year...and am involved in setting up a new culture mag with the publisher. I might actually be able to survive...

I'm so pleased to read this news - well done and may these lovely prospects be realised for you as soon as practical.

Be careful what you wish for when invoking dragons. Grin

We now have a rights-hoarding dinosaur

Why are we listening to Lammy? She's a dragon (off-shoot of snakes and the 'worm that never dies) and she's fiercely protecting the rights not hoarding them.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 28/09/2021 17:35

Move aside, Vipers.
Camilla, make space in the paddock.

We now have a rights-hoarding dinosaur, thanks to David Lammy.

She's rather big, actually. We might need a larger paddock. And I'm not sure what she eats. Shall I ask David, since he's such an authority?

@DetroitNeedsADog

Pure luxury....and the smashed table top. I was looking back at photos from a few years back. I was shocked in retrospect. Don't know how I survived.
Love the peek at the Bukowski.

Is it possible for someone to cut that marble down safely for you and bevel the edges to either create another table top or a very useful surface for the kitchen area?

@DetroitNeedsADog

Marble table arrived smashed...sofa is nice - and green...side table lovely. I'll get another furniture pick next time a list is released.
I'm sorry the movers were so careless as to smash the table. I'm pleased the sofa and side table are OK.
ArabellaScott · 27/09/2021 15:06

Hey, Detroit, so good to hear you have a place to stay. Smile

Sorry about the head and smashed table, hope you are settling in well, otherwise.
