This is a harrowing read.
I feel immensely sorry for the child that was. However I feel more frightened for the women and children G might be incarcerated with.

The IGG guidance then wouldn’t be following the exemptions under the equal status act. Unless she has a GRC then she is entitled to stay.

Irish Girl Guides retweeted NWCI today. I know they've been captured too but it makes me so sad. I was really encouraging dd to go back to guides this year, she was less interested but she goes to a mixed school so I'd like her to have one all girl space. And I'm a brownies leader with a very vulnerable girl who has mentioned in the past that she's "really a boy". She's 8 ffs. The IGG guidance is to ask her to leave. It makes me want to cry.

I saw that in my inbox today @notyourhandmaid. I have unsubscribed from their newsletter. I wonder how many others will do the same?

SecondRow · 18/11/2020 20:54

NWCI were also tweeting about quotas - presumably for women - on corporate boards, the day after appointing a male person to their board.

My local Penney's when I was growing up had a communal women's changing room. Pretty bizarre to think of now. The flappy curtains aren't much better...

Interesting the Sun draws the connection to Travis Alabanza's Topshop tantrum - that's cast a long shadow as Penneys obviously just don't want the hassle.

miri1985 · 18/11/2020 18:58

Completely OT, wasn't sure this warranted a seperate thread but thought other Irish women might want to know

Penneys are introducing gender neutral fitting rooms in some branches.

Wouldn't mind if they were fully enclosed but in my local one its a thin curtain that never seems to go the full way

@Weatherwarning

Thanks XXsex Do you mind me asking what safeguarding issue you raised. I want to have my facts right if I need to contact the school.

Mine are the non talking kind too.

@Weatherwarning actually all of the elements in the thread here are contained in the BeLonGTo pages

here:

 Promising confidentiality to a child
 Parental Alienation
 Promoting use of off label drugs and minimising harms
 Erosion of sexual boundaries

Of course they have. Institutional capture. I believe that a transwoman was elected to the board of NCWI this week.

NWCI (National Women's Council) have sent out a newsletter today in support of BelongTo and TENI.

FFS.

Weatherwarning · 14/11/2020 07:16

Thanks XXsex. I will check it out.

XXSex · 13/11/2020 19:58

The fact that BeLonGTo were saying that in order to support trans students they should, on overnight trips, stay in bedrooms with members of the opposite sex (they worded it as stay with the gender they identify with - or similar).

I personally think that as a parent I would have a problem with 14-15-16-17-18 year olds sharing bedrooms. And I would hope that a school would too.

@3timeslucky

I think that's very true. Unless you've teens who come back and report on what is happening in a lot of detail you're unlikely to know. Whether or not that organisation is in, have a look at the SPHE books your teens are using. IME it is cut and paste from TENI.
GrinGrinGrin

I definitely don’t have that type of teens. I have the non talking types!

I don’t think you’ll know if they’re using it or not. I called both my boys and girls school and they were using it.

Once I pointed out the safe guarding issues etc they are recalling it and not using it. The male teacher in the boys school said that he’d speak to his teacher friends in other mixed schools.

Trust me when I say that you won’t know. I didn’t until I called.

Thanks XX, yes I saw your other thread, thanks for highlighting.
I'll be watching to see if anything gets pushed in DC's schools; and yes, I will be making a fuss if they do.

Weatherwarning · 13/11/2020 09:42

From reading this groups website, it appears that they are entering schools only if invited. Is the Dept of Education is planning on teaching gender identity as part of the school curriculum?

XXSex · 13/11/2020 05:01

Did you see my post on what’s being taught in schools next week on trans issues? Getting into the schools on this is indoctrinating children. If that happens it will be years before they’ll see common sense.

This is bullshit

notyourhandmaid · 11/11/2020 21:14

Did anyone say anything that was more 'vile' than BK's threats towards women?

Correctly identifying the sex of a wannabe-murderer is not vile. Sorry. It just ain't.

Pointing out that having a potential rapist in a women's prison is dangerous is also not vile, unless you prioritise male feelings over women's safety... oh, wait, nevermind.

Kantastic · 11/11/2020 13:39

"vile” media reports,

Well, yes those reports were stomach churning but the vileness didn't come from the reporters. Did they mean that BK's vileness was the subject of media reports? And we can't have that now,can we because, everybody along, there are no problems with the GRA in Ireland!

Annasgirl · 11/11/2020 12:25

It is also a travesty that a female judge is complicit in the cover up - but not a surprise as women always facilitated the state in destroying the lives of other women in Ireland.

Cailleach1 · 11/11/2020 08:58

Is the State going out of it's way to try to revert to the historical role of enablers of the abuse and potential abuses of women again?

There used to be a religious term about being in a situation which would tempt you; 'a dangerous occasion of sin'. They State are now turning that into 'a dangerous occasion of being harmed' for women. Not that it will necessarily always occur, just that the situation is created where it can occur more easily. Happily and merrily we skip back, this time to the tune and tenets of ideology labelled progressive don't ya know.

Cailleach1 · 11/11/2020 08:49

They left out the bit that this self ID woman has also threatened to rape women. Nice of the court and media to minimise your threats in your favour.

XXSex · 11/11/2020 07:40

Meant to put a Angry for one of those Blush
