I didn't think it was possible for political discourse to get more divisive and extreme in a civilized society, but Frances Carmel Hoole, who apparently standing for election, tweeted a meme of herself threatening Joanna Cherry with a spray bottle of bleach and the term T*RF.

She has deleted it and is now complaining about the sound condemnation she is receiving on Twitter. I need to get a hammock for my face to help with the continual dropping of my jaw.

Nope.

Datun · 08/11/2019 07:28

What if someone just mimicked what these people said on Twitter, but towards another protected characteristic?

Would the Twitter moderators still just practice the most awful double standards?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 08/11/2019 07:22

What do toy have to do on twitter to get a ban or suspension for goodness sake? (Yes I know the answer!)

SunsetBeetch · 07/11/2019 23:12

Towntattle seems to be escalating again. (I will not call this person Cathy, it is an insult to the real Cathy Brennan.)

I hope there will be a strong police presence at the meeting on 20th November arranged by @JoanMcAlpine & @JennyMarra. This person, @TownTattle, is inciting physical protest. Bearing in mind their attack on @bindelj this threat should be taken very seriously

To cap basic fact IMHO - we have representatives we delegate to parliament but they are not true delegates since they can act on their own volition. And practically we couldn't vote to inform every vote they take. We vote for MPs on their party's manifesto (even if they don't agree with that manifesto eg Cameron's promise of a referendum or even if they object to planning (HS2) in their constituency). Or now Brexit. We could indeed have little buttons on our phones (for those can use them) to vote every day but someone somewhere (as with postal votes, mobile downtime, snafu and outright rigging) would bugger it up.

CranberriesChoccy · 07/11/2019 18:33

@theflushedzebra

*She said: “You’re not defending women’s rights unless you defend trans rights."

We really need to knock this narrative on the head.*

They think if they keep repeating it (as with TWAW) that it will be an infallible truth. Lots of people have swallowed the narrative but there's more and more people seeing sense. It's a tactic designed mainly to silence women who know sex is determined by biology.

HandsOffMyRights · 07/11/2019 17:53

Quite. The last time CB took matters into CB's hands, look what happened.

But Owen Jones called it out and Linda Riley and Ben Hunte, surely???

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 17:45

Well skinny doesn’t sound depressed now.

HandsOffMyRights · 07/11/2019 17:43

You're correct Fekko Brennan cited depression.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 17:29

Didn’t they say they were only threatening because ‘they weren't well’?

SunsetBeetch · 07/11/2019 17:25

Look who's at it again with the violent threats, TownTattle:

This is an actual threat of violence from the unhinged individual who attacked @bindelj. I hope @DeclarationOn @JoanMcAlpine and @Jennymarra are aware and take appropriate action. I also hope this is denounced in the strongest terms by the likes of @EngenderScot. t.co/gQhgZ8shYd

I’m not sure if it’s the same one - I guess it’s a cut and paste job from the wee kiddies / bring your kid to works department.

lionheart · 07/11/2019 17:04

Or have and don't give a toss about women, or children, or young trans people.

lionheart · 07/11/2019 17:03

Is it the same as this Lord?

'Piss off you bigot' seems to be the default for those who have not paid attention.

I was just coming to share this. Great news. Joanna and the team in her office are wonderful. I require their assistance on a professional level occasionally

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 15:50

The 'piss off you bigot' reply one I just saw on Twitter?

lionheart · 07/11/2019 15:32

That's good. The LibDems, judging by the other thread, are not for turning.

Gingerkittykat · 07/11/2019 15:28

I just came to find this thread to post the article.

Good news, and as for women being expendable it seems like it is women who are often the most vocal about hating T*erfs.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 07/11/2019 15:26

Is pingu happy that he got her sacked?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 13:52

I wonder if the irony is lost on her/him/them?

RoyalCorgi · 07/11/2019 13:46

They don't act so quickly (or at all) against the men (and I mean men! the beardy wokebros) in Labour who have been abusing women for months and years, keeping lists of "terfs" etc. No action taken against them.

Indeed. When you think of the number of complaints that have been made against Madigan, with no action taken, it's pretty depressing. Sometimes they even investigate the person who's made the complaint because they have committed the crime of "misgendering".

I think in a general election, they have to sack someone who says things like this. You do hold parliamentary candidates to a higher standard as a rule.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 13:40

She was rather unapologetic before. Maybe big man told her off.

GCAcademic · 07/11/2019 13:34

It seems to me that she has gone because this would be a 'distraction' rather than because threatening people with bleach is fucking outrageous.

Yes, I thought that. Plus, it's funny how she is only "genuinely sorry" now that her candidacy has been removed. She was somewhat sorry-not-sorry before that.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 13:33

Can I revise that? I read to the bottom.

'Here’s to them both tasting the rainbow on 12th December.” (boak - what is she, 12 years of age?)

Hoole, a graduate of Labour Jo Cox leadership programme (WHAAATTTTTT?), then claimed she didn’t “perceive” the image as a threat (She is a fool then - change one four letter T word to another one and she would be crying).

She said: “You’re not defending women’s rights unless you defend trans rights (gimme a break love). Please respect what you are being told by advocacy groups (yes because it is a civilised debate). You should never receive abuse or threats (lies). Not from me or anyone else (more lies).

“I didn’t perceive this as a threat so I apologise I didn’t see it that way.” (and im going to skewwm and skweem until i am sick).

Her little mates who egged her one aren't going to be so friendly now that she isn't a high falutin' politics lady now are they?

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 07/11/2019 13:28

It seems to me that she has gone because this would be a 'distraction' rather than because threatening people with bleach is fucking outrageous.

But yes. Possibly progress.
