Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

A pleasant surprise

NC for this as very outing.

I came across a number of Tweets from a user whose profile described him as a serving officer with the Met. This is the complaint I sent yesterday:

Jon Killen, a emergency response officer in the MPS and LGBT+ officer, is issuing Tweets that I consider misogynist. His Twitter account (@LDNResponseCop) clearly identifies him professionally, so he cannot argue that he's only offering personal opinions. I cannot think his social media presence is doing anything good for the Met. It seems highly unprofessional. Certainly I would have less confidence were I involved in an incident and had to deal with Jon Killen than I would in a generic officer. Please look at what he's saying - and the response from many LGBT Twitter users who find his Tweets offensive. The police must be seen to be impartial.

I got a call from an inspector this morning. He'd gone through the officer's Tweets and agreed with me. He said it wasn't a disciplinary matter as there were no personally offensive Tweets but that the Tweets definitely overstepped the bounds of what a serving police officer should be saying on social media. A conversation was in order and he would be talking to the officer soon.

Only a small step, but I was pleased the Met seems to have taken it seriously.

Go Well Zoe

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 05/06/2019 15:40

I’m really sad that Zoes posts got deleted

They didn’t break guidelines, unless having seriously misguided beliefs breaks guidelines now, and it was actually rather helpful to see a genderist trying to explain what made them a woman without referring to biology. It was very revealing

*walk like 3 men are walking behind you

Reading Barracker's article, I immediately thought, hmmmm, that means
"Walk with energy and stride, shoulders back, look strong, walk fast without looking like you're walking fast, head up, don't run, but walk as quickly as you can without looking lie you're speeding up, stride longer, stride strong and noisily, keep going, head for where there are people, can I cross the road, don't show them you've noticed them, get something in your hand. Just in case. Just in case."

THat's what I think, day or night, if there are 3 men behind me.

Datun · 05/06/2019 12:42

The mastery of their own goals never ceases to amaze me.

The women here are bloody funny though. An image of my cat playing with its food came to mind.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 05/06/2019 11:41

I’m still stewing over the universal definition of womanhood being a shared eye roll when a man does something ‘douchy’

I’m rubbish at spotting if people are male or female, generally happy to take them at face value, but that did make me wonder if Zoe may be male

It reminds me of that Oscar de la Renta quote Barracker used in her Rohypnol article

walk like 3 men are walking behind you

What, quickly because you’re fucking terrified? Or did you mean some shite about wiggling your bottom Oscar? Men’s experiences are so, so far removed from women’s

CuriousaboutSamphire · 05/06/2019 11:13

Ooh! Living up to your username eh, hun? Grin

ZebrasAreBras

Reading this thread back, the first clue that zoe is a TRA and also a transwoman is this response:

Zoecb Tue 04-Jun-19 12:38:33
“It’s not hard”... and yet :-p

And then there's this:
In all honesty trying to justify my womanhood to you comes under the banner of “taking homework assignments from strangers”

Along with not being able to define "woman" - well, it;s just obvious really.

You forgot - transwomen are an amazing asset cos they can mansplain feminism and womanhood!
And calling themselves Zoe.

Sorry Zoecb, you can't even pass on an anonymous, text only forum...

I think the monitors sometimes report their own..because they know how bad it looks

Yep

Maybe the reporting system should be more open on FWR (as its already got its own rules)

Personally I’m happy to tell people I’m reporting them and why, I don’t tend to because i think its supposed to be rude

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 05/06/2019 10:39

I think the monitors sometimes report their own..because they know how bad it looks.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 05/06/2019 10:35

So, maybe it was just a passing MNHQer, saw the word and, as they say they will, just zubbed it!

SophoclesTheFox · 05/06/2019 10:33

i wouldn’t ever bother reporting t*rf, I’ve no need at all to try to control the language that other people use about me. I only report personal attacks, and egregious misogyny.

ZebrasAreBras · 05/06/2019 10:04

No, I didn't report zoe - I'd much rather let that stuff stand for everyone to see.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 05/06/2019 10:03

Zoe, every time you want to write 'T*s', just replace it with 'witches'

We did this, was quite illuminating really.

HumberElla · 05/06/2019 09:21

Wasn’t me! I was having too much fun.

Trousering · 05/06/2019 09:16

That was a fun read, sadly I missed the deletions.

The two things that stand out to me are the supercilious tone, always that from visiting lecturers, and the blatant ageism, cos that's socially acceptable with the morally superior is it?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 05/06/2019 09:15

... only until I prove you guilty Grin

LangCleg · 05/06/2019 09:14

Innocent!

S1naidSucks · 05/06/2019 09:00

That’s so unfair. Went off to walk the dogs and missed the TRA/MRA tantrum.

When I’m asked in future, “where were you when the famous meltdown happened?” Walking the dogs doesn’t sound very exciting. So unfair. stomps off in a Zoe huff, throwing insults at other lucky posters

CuriousaboutSamphire · 05/06/2019 08:53

I suspect Our Zoe did, to prove her point that she would be banned. But then wouldn't it have had "at the posters request"?

Come on, fess up... who reported the most amusing troll we've had for a while?

SpartacusAutisticusAHF · 05/06/2019 08:53

SophoclesTheFox · 05/06/2019 08:47

I’m curious if anyone actually reported the sweary outburst? I sure as hell didn’t, couldn’t find the report button through my tears of laughter Grin

HumberElla · 05/06/2019 08:41

First time I’ve been labelled as one of a pack. I imagine myself Jack of Spades.

OP if you’re still here I’d be interested to know if you heard re Jon.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 05/06/2019 08:15

No! They deleted the seary post?? Why??? Oh yes, the first word was the one that would have done it.

Fucking hell, MNHQ! You could have let it stand... it was funny - funny I tells ya!

SophoclesTheFox · 05/06/2019 07:36

I think Zoe might have slammed her laptop shut so hard when she flounced, she broke it. Shame. Still waiting for those stats on feminists assaulting trans people, Zo - ready whenever you are.

I am always thoroughly intrigued by how quickly transactivists go for the Godwin when they flail helplessly out of their depth in here. There’s a whole piece in there about how thoroughly the left has now sold women down the river, that proper, woman centred feminism is perceived as coming from the right, but I haven’t had my second coffee yet, so I’m not ready to get really into it Grin

Mostly I am content to just sit back and let the trans activists do the heavy lifting of exposing the world to the anger that sits just under the surface of every demand for compliance from women. I’m not sure I should enjoy being called a Nazi quite this much Grin

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 05/06/2019 06:23

I just find the threadbareness of the ideology so depressing. how has it gained so much traction when it's such blatant bollocks?

Sad
