I can't access it as not a subscriber but thanks Debbie for promoting trans gender trend's pack.

Getting this into the TES is very much needed.

Cont, she comes across like that.

Jesus. I saw that on the times thread; I can't believe that's an aspiration.

I'm glad I'm a trf. If being a trf stops just one child from making a choice like in this screenshot. A massively traumatised, abused child, making that choice.

Glad the voices of people like Natasha are shrieking into the void.

I met the woman a few years ago and ‘narcissistic’ doesn’t even begin to describe it.

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 14:35

She's a funny one.

Here she seems to almost get it.

I need to point out that Natasha Devon is calling us t*fs; this is a direct quote from her TES column last year.

OP posts:
NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 14:28

Formatting fails, this is my line:

_Ignoring the wide variety of possible traumatic experiences and co morbid mh issues many yp have with GD.

What does living a true GI mean exactly?_

And

Ummm well. I don't need to comment much on this bit...

Not much on safeguarding there. Healthy dollop of cognitive dissonance. I know which piece I'd take heed of if I were a HT. plus it's also sympathetic and inclusive of trans identifying young people too.

OP posts:
NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 14:27

Easy meat - absolutely.

Especially when people like Devon apparently visit 3 schools a week with this kind of bunkum:

Oh hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?

www.tes.com/news/transphobes-are-driving-childrens-confusion-about-gender-not-trans-community-or-their

Anti-trans voices broadly fall into two camps, the first being a kind of grunting incredulity and a refusal to accept transgenderism as a phenomenon, which tends to come from the political right wing. The second is TERFS (trans exclusionary radical feminists) who believe that the social acknowledgment of transgender women threatens the hard-won rights and status of people who were born women, and they tend to be on the left. Both weave elaborate webs in an attempt to disguise what is, in reality, simple transphobia. Yet, as Owen Jones recently pointed out in a piece for thee Guardianan^, they are dusting off the exact same arguments that were used to protest against the abolishment of Section 288_ back in 2003.
These include but are not limited to:

1. 'It’s a mental illness'
The same people who once claimed being gay was a "perversion" that needed to be "cured", rather than "encouraged", now say that those with "gender dysphoria" need "sympathy and therapeutic support", as opposed to being allowed to live their lives according to their true gender identity.

Ignoring the wide variety of possible traumatic experiences and co morbid mh issues many yp have with GD.

What does living a true GI mean exactly?

5. ‘They can’t take it back’
The "what if children wrongly think they’re gay and say it and try it and hate it?" brigade are now claiming that "children as young as 5 are being offered gender realignment surgery". I cannot say this loudly enough: there is absolutely no evidence for this. Psychologists and endocrinologists are generally reluctant to provide hormone therapy to anyone under the age of 16, and obtaining sex realignment surgery prior to the age of 18 is almost impossible in most countries throughout the world. Furthermore, transgender people,,_ who know only too well the pain and distress associated with being in the wrong body, are the last people who would encourage gender realignment on a whim.

Ummm well. I don't need to comment much on this bit...

I completely agree. There's a reason so many schools have been 'regulatory captured' by the trans groups targeting them. With the government refusing to stand up for the rights and safety of children schools have been easy meat for them to use to promote parental alienation, roll back safeguarding and misrepresent the law. Few teachers will be brave enough (or even knowledgeable enough) to stand up to some unqualified zealot telling them that anything other than uncritical acceptance of TWAW is transphobic.

This is a massively important article as it openly identifies the issues of risk to children - and safeguarding is one thing that teachers universally understand.

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 13:39

Ooh interesting Truth.

I know I'm a broken record but this is a significant piece.

For those who don't know; the TES is half news, half teaching job adverts. Busy time of year for teaching job changes.

I wonder whether the NAHT (Headteacher's union) have also got cold feet? They produced some truly awful trans guidelines with a great fanfare back in 2017. These have now completely disappeared and they just have 'behind a paid subscription' LGBT inclusion guidelines - written with Stonewall so presumably the legal guidance will be incorrect.

Fortunately Mumsnet was on the case and there's a useful summary on this thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3111547-New-batshit-NAHT-guidelines-on-trans-in-schools

Comes to something when a Headteacher's union is too embarrassed to publish their inclusion guidelines openly!

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 13:18

I'm assuming that the forums are tied to the actual paper and articles however. They are on the website.

I wonder if the actual Times has had any influence re the various pieces over the year.

OP posts:
NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 13:15

Quite Truth.

I don't go on the TES forums but have occasionally had a look.

I did notice last year that at best posters were completely missing the point around things like gender stereotypes (eg re the bbc no more girls and boys documentary) and at worst, GC / biologists' voices were being silenced, posts deleted heavy moderation.

Obviously Columists such as Natasha Devon were regular contributors. I wonder how many U turns we will see over the next year or so, especially with the SRE curriculum coming in.

Another reason why this is extremely well timed.

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 13:09

This is really very significant given that stonewall have labelled TT pack as transphobic; schools are going to have to do some serious critical analysis especially if they are stonewall champions.

Given the public information about all the safeguarding breaches and the recent Transgender Trend analysis of all the trans toolkits that advocate the wholesale removal of the rights of groups of children, especially girls, it's becoming increasingly hard for educators to ignore the real issues.

I agree. And TES seem to be realising - they not only commissioned this article but also paid out for legal checking of it.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 14/05/2019 12:25

That's interesting Neurotrash. I assumed they were simply silent rather than actively opposed.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 14/05/2019 12:18

Wow neuro

What a turn around indeed. And quite rightly given the TRA push for immediate affirmation / pubity blockers / sex change hormones is based on sparkle gender fairy theories rather than large scale peer reviewed evidence.

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/05/2019 12:06

Apparently this is a big turn around for the TES.

A TES forum poster was having their links to the transgender trend pack in forum posts removed last year by mods.

Glad someone has come to their senses.

Very thoughtful article Debbie. I'm sorry that being a teacher and writing about things which impact teaching and student safeguarding somehow adds up to you being a target for hate. We live in interesting times!

Genderfreelass · 13/05/2019 19:56

Good idea Katvon, if the y receive the TES article soon with TT information they will hopefully be more inclined to read the TT info.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 13/05/2019 19:29

I'm going to get the TES and send it to the kids school.

And I'll back that up with the TT guidence. I haven't felt confident enough before but this is great.

So pleased to see that this is still gaining traction. The more people who actually read the TT guidance, the better. Thank you Debbie.

*“A suitable alternative [to the changing room designated for their own sex] might be to allow the [trans] pupil to use private changing facilities, such as the staff changing room or another suitable space.”8

Absolutely. And thank you for writing this piece, Debbie, but I am going to ask again - isn't it important for gender-cricital transwomen to be avoiding the use of female-only spaces, both to lead by example and so as not to give less well-intentioned males an excuse by setting a precedent?
