This debate needs...violence, says Lib Dem candidate

So sarah brown (erstwhile Cambridge councillor, introducer of non-EA2010 compliant policy on "gender", and active member of the LGBT+ Lib dems) thinks of the debate with feminists who don't support trans women:

Violence worked for the suffragettes"
"When you have a mere philosophical disagreement then violence is not appropriate, however these people are, at a aminimum, trying to eradicate us from the public realm"
"The gloves are off"

Worth noting that sarah frequently says that "t**fs" want her and other transwomen dead and want to eliminate them from the public realm.

I find this genuinely chilling. All heat, no light.

I hope Sarah hasn't been receiving harassment.

I'd imagine their definition of "harassment" covers "pointing out incitement to violence against women".

That's a ludicrous response to complaints about the LGBT account. Either the account is run by someone in the LibDems, in which case, of course they are responsible. Or it's run by someone not in the LibDems, in which case the LibDems should stop them using the LibDem name and dragging the LibDem reputation through the mud.

No. We're not. Trans people should have proper representation. But so should women, and while I'm sure there may be honourable exceptions, few transwomen holding or running for public office in the U.K. seem to have much understanding of women's concerns.

Women won't submit to being pushed out of public life, women's spaces or sports. But we will resist without threatening, let alone committing, violence.

Sarah Brown has a google alert or similar set up on her name so will be reading this thread.

I sincerely doubt she is receiving harassment.

I have noticed she is very good at shutting down any mention of women's rights by first being sneering and dismissive, then going down the 'poor me, this is so painful to talk about again' route, and the wokebros instantly start fawning and pussyfooting around her.

I'm pretty confident there's only so long that one person can shut down any consideration of an issue among a bunch of intelligent, politically aware people. The realisation of what it means to accept that any man who declares themselves a woman instantly becomes a woman, no questions asked, will seep in gradually.

That LGBT+ Lib Dem statement though:

We do not advocate violence; nor do we advocate harassment of trans people for speaking honestly about their fears in private conversations.

If this is re: Sarah's posts, these were public posts advocating violence. I hope Sarah hasn't been receiving harassment.
