No direct accusations against Edward Lord (the 'non-binary' freemason who is trying to remove single-sex spaces in London) but here he is describing as a "hero" a man who was a member of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) and is a continuing "advocate" for paedophiles:

Maybe they've realized that rather more extensive editing is needed.

The online version of the guide seems to be no longer available.

Although there has been focus on the definition of women, there was a great deal more in the document deserving of scrutiny.

I don't know if there is an archived version anywhere?

I mean, yes, the bit about being cis Northern was stupid and it's good that it's gone now, but do they really think that was the only issue?

AngryAttackKittens · 02/09/2018 09:55

An achievement that deserves a gin!

LadybirdsAreBirds · 02/09/2018 09:50

.. I just worked out the para thing myself. Feeling pretty darned chuffed with myself, let me tell you

AngryAttackKittens · 02/09/2018 09:48

In theory I should know that, but not enough coffee!

longwayoff · 02/09/2018 09:48

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy has defined woman. Please Google as cant link. After which can I suggest we all find our inner Northerner. FUMING

LadybirdsAreBirds · 02/09/2018 09:47

at either end!

LadybirdsAreBirds · 02/09/2018 09:47

AAK

Bolding doesn't work unless you condense everything into one paragraph and put the * and either end.

AngryAttackKittens · 02/09/2018 09:43

I swear I can usually manage bolding...

AngryAttackKittens · 02/09/2018 09:43

*I don't believe he did unequivocally. He said at one point that the stigma he was experiencing was prejudice against his sexual orientation and that his not abusing children should entitle him to be free of stigma otherwise what was the point of not acting on the urges and he felt he maybe should not have bothered. He also didn't quite grasp why it was wrong, which the article does discuss.

Yep, and he also said (in forums where he felt nice and comfy) that if it wasn't illegal to have sex with children then he would, ie. he does not have any internal sense of it being wrong to do so at all.

Never trust a pedophile, they lie like cheap rugs.

and women want good solid doors between them and these chaps. And a nice strong set of locks also.

Article in today's Sunday Times by Andrew Gilligan:
'Sex pests target women in mixed changing rooms'
(extract)
The majority of alleged sexual attacks at Britain’s public swimming pools and sports centres occur in unisex changing rooms, according to data obtained by The Sunday Times.

Nine out of 10 changing-room sexual complaints relate to incidents in unisex facilities — although they make up less than half of all provision.

Gender-neutral changing is growing as councils seek to cut staff costs and cater to transgender people. But one MP said it risked becoming a “magnet” for sex offenders and increased the danger to women and girls." (continues)

Maybe some of them knew what we are only beginning to see publically on Twitter? I don't know.

It's been my experience that men (at least the ones capable of being honest with themselves) are quite aware of how far sexual perversity in men can go and how common it is, largely because other men will say things around them that they might not say around women.

AngryAttackKittens · 02/09/2018 09:35

Weirdy pervy men are in fact pervy and weird shocker.
In other news, sky blue, water wet, and women want good solid doors between them and these chaps.

And a nice strong set of locks also. And possibly a very large and overprotective Alsatian.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2018 09:19

And this is pure queer theory reasoning (not saying all proponents of queer theory go this far but some leading lights do). All sexuality is valid, even paraphilias. Paedophilia in a more enlightened world where people including children are free and comfortable with sexuality and have no boundaries is just another sexual orientation. I repeat for the avoidance of doubt that not all people who espouse queer theory promote harmful paraphilias as sexual orientation.

But I will say that we had a thread on MN back when this article came out, and there was quite a lot of sympathy with his view that it was a sexual orientation and so called "virtuous paedophiles" shouldn't be stigmatised or monitored in any way. This is a dangerous path.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2018 09:12

That's a good article. The only bit I would take issue with (having read the original Nickerson piece which was taken down and no longer available) is this:

In his Salon piece, Nickerson states unequivocally that it is wrong for a pedophile to act on his urges

I don't believe he did unequivocally.

TimeLady · 02/09/2018 08:59

This is an interesting analysis of a self-confessed paedophile's mindset

Yes, I DO believe we pedos have more empathy for children than the average parent does, and as such, I DO believe we are better judges, on average, of what children can and cannot handle.

"His ideology is complete. While parents are the nefarious, controlling agents of society, pedophiles are compassionate individuals who know best how early children are ready for sex."

And I am not for one second saying that the situation is the same for men as women re difficulties in speaking out etc, because it isn't and I would never say anything like that.

I am just wondering about certain more extreme types of people and their agendas. PIE etc.

EntropicTupperwareDrawer · 02/09/2018 08:23

That sheila jeffreys/Derrick jensen podcast was an excellent listen, thank you DJ. The video posted earlier of him trying to talk while some idiot shouted names at him was quite extraordinary. What did she think she was achieving?

Potplant2 · 02/09/2018 08:22

I’ve seen those period fetishists before. Hope they catch something very nasty.

One clear tell that they are men (as if we needed it) is that they all assume we get sexual pleasure from having tampons inserted. Any woman knows that if you can feel your tampon when it’s in, there’s something wrong and you’d better head to the ladies’ and sort it out. The whole point of having a tampon correctly inserted is that you can’t feel it.

seafret · 02/09/2018 08:11

Re these latest tampax posts, tweets and other dots; the depths and extremes that the human mind can go to are deeply, deepy disturbing (but not surprising sadly). I don't know why we cannot say that these people need to be receiving in patient MH care, when they so obviously do, for all or sakes. There is nothing postive or bening here. I don't care whether there are 10 or 10,000 men who think like that, I do not want a single one of them anywhere near women or children (including boys)

I will probably get deleted and or lambasted for saying it, but it occurs to me that if any of this variously deviant and disturbed behaviour is/ has been going on in male toilets and in male spaces or with a view to deceiving men into sexual encounters or whatever, it doesn't surprise me at all that some men have very strong reactions to any 'male who identify as women' that displays even traces of these behaviours.

Not condoning violence at all, but maybe not all the male dislike of some transwomen is irrational, hateful, toxic-male transphobia as is often said, but actually some of it may be a strong rejection of mentally disturbed fucked up ness by some un-woke men. And there will be men who have been sexually abused as children that will find this kind of thing massively disturbing. Yes, I know we are not supposed to think about men's feelz here, but really if it is in society and affecting men, then it will affect women, and they may be our brothers, sons, cousins, DHs, fathers even. Maybe some of them knew what we are only beginning to see publically on Twitter? I don't know.

Sadly though, some men I am sure would have the problem moved to women's spaces and be happy with out of sight, out of mind.

But perhaps calling most men transphobic has been silencing men against speaking out against perversions and disturbing behaviour that they have seen? I mean it hasn't just started up because of the GRA stuff has it? The climate might be more 'accepting' (?!) and enabling now (dear deity how did we get here) but surely the propensity of certain people for certain perverted, delusional MH pathoogically awful things was always there. Now it is just in tweetable technicolour.

Maybe it was the first step (or a step) in getting to where we are now? Because certain types will use any strategy to egt what they want, even discrediting men manybe, becasue to they wanted to get here; where women are both the final hurdle and maybe the biggest/ most desired one as depsite our relative physical weakness there is no denying women's mental strength and resilience. There's an analogy there that I can't get to as I have had little sleep. Alpha and Omega or something.

I am just wondering because on trying to get my head around this and se if there are dots to join, I have been reading more on institutionalsied sexual abuse against children eg in children's homes, and there is frequently mention of cross dressing etc etc and many boy victims were disbeleived/ deliberately discredited etc. And I would guess that paedophiles would put aside whether they prefer sex with males or females if it furthers their jont cause.

Yes, of course, not all trans people or those with gender/sex dysphoria are predatory or abusive at all, and of course they may be damaged and be damaged further by how this does or doesn't link up with abusers, just as not all men are sexual abusers, but again, for safeguarding reasons, we have to be able to explore in detail and without censure what is before our eyes. If you are no harm to anyone then you will have nothing to fear from rational debate and research.

IMO we as a society need to pile a whole lot of money into MH services, safeguarding, and in taking a proper stand against damaged, perverted, abusive behaviours, committed n the main by males but with the support/ enabling of some women. It should be a source of national shame that generation after generation has to suffer any of this. I am sick of seeing people and lives destroyed.

Bowlofbabelfish Darker and darker. Are our resident journo lurkers watching? An exposé on this tangled web of horror is Pulitzer winning stuff. Be brave.

I hope they are.

I was sat reading Dr EMs twitter feed last night and DH stood behind me asking what I was doing. I said reading - some shocking stuff - I'll tell you about it in the morning. I don't even know how or where to start! To say it to someone starts to sound incredible because, how can this be gong on in plain sight??!!

I'm in awe of the marvellous work being put in to disclose this for what it is.
