This is an article written about an altercation at the trans inclusive San Francisco Dyke March when a few women who were protesting about transgernderism were threatened and attacked by the crowd.

DARVO in action folks...

it’s telling that one of the causes of outrage here is that lesbians were involved in an altercation with trans people and their supporters who were “often half their age”

This sounds like adults picking on children; so unfair, such an abuse of power. But, as we have seen previously, in an altercation between a “middle-aged” woman (obviously the worst thing it is possible to be) and a male bodied person half her age it is not the woman who is at an advantage.

FurryDice · 27/06/2018 05:01

These people take a terra nullus approach to language- it’s like they think words are just sitting there, empty of meaning and available for them to define in whatever way they like.

Such a perfect interpretation it bears repeating.

thebewilderness · 27/06/2018 04:22

Wait a minute!
A few weeks ago when the incels were shooting up schools the women were supposed to fuck them so they wouldn't go on murder sprees and now the women being assaulted are the incels doing violence by getting assaulted by the "We Punch TERFs" brigade at Pride?

James Kirkup Spectator article:
blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/05/the-silencing-of-the-lesbians/

(extract)
"Anyway the key point is this: some transwomen have a penis and no intention of getting rid of it. Some of those transwomen describe themselves as lesbians, by which they mean they are sexually attracted to women. I make no comment on any of that beyond reporting that this presents a problem for those lesbians who were born female, who say they’re not sexually aroused by people with penises, and who don’t want to have sex with those people. Is that a reasonable position? Is it respectable to state that your sexual preferences and choice of sexual partner depends, at least in part, on the potential partners’ genitalia?

Some transgender women don’t think so. They suggest that female-born lesbians who decline to sleep with transwomen who have a penis are guilty of bigotry or transphobia. Some of them express that argument in very blunt terms. (For more about what some call the “cotton ceiling” that excludes transwomen with penises from sex with lesbians, see this)

Some lesbians feel uncomfortable, to put it mildly, about such arguments. Lucy Masoud, a London firefighter trade unionist, says some transgender people are “bullying lesbians into having intercourse with people they don’t want to…. [I] just need to escape being labelled a transphobe for not wanting to sleep with people who have penises.”

To summarise: lesbians, who say they are sexually attracted to people with female genitals, report that they find themselves being told, sometimes aggressively, that they must include in their range of potential sexual partners people who have male genitals. And if they speak out to challenge such messages, they are told they are being “transphobic” or bigoted or similar.

Now, there are words for a person with a penis who insists that women who say they do not want to touch that penis should in fact touch that penis and who put pressure on women to do. But I won’t use those words here because this isn’t that sort of article. I’ll just say that this sort of behaviour strikes me as the sort of thing that shouldn’t go unremarked or unchallenged.... continues

Manipulate the message to portray an issue or person in the most favorable light possible, and when necessary, make the opposing side look shabby in comparison

Transactivists are very good at this since they use children as the face of their movement. THE POOR SUICIDAL CHILDREN! Won't someone think of the POOR KIDS? This is why everywhere you look you see mass media promoting transgenderism to children, using children.

Even when confronted with the evidence that giving kids hormone blockers and hormones is very dangerous they bring out the manipulative suicide card.

Last night I had someone say to me 'I hope you never have a transgender child!!' implying that I'm an abuser because I understand basic biology and understand psychology and can read research papers.

The suicide manipulation works very well since the average person doesn't understand that transgenders have the same suicide rate that any other mentally ill person does, AND that they have a host of other psychological disorders that are untreated in favour of transing them.

This is why ANY mention of detransition means a tantrum for them.

Children and suicide manipulation: very effective.

What you have to do is put your foot down and keep it there until they stop being so hyperbolic and ridiculous. This is what WPUK did so well and why they got a bomb threat.

The male violence pattern and entitlement ALWAYS shows itself.

donquixotedelamancha · 26/06/2018 21:59

Yay. I knew I'd get to be a Lesbian sooner or later if all this dilution of language continued.

Dyke is not just a sexual orientation. It’s a political identity. It stands for community. It stands for solidarity. It stands for radical fight. It stands for trans, black, brown, queer, bisexual, lesbian, disabled, chronically ill, fat, femme, butch, indigenous, gender expansive love.*

I'm fat and have a chronic illness. Presumably I am more of a dyke than someone who is merely a women who fancies women? I've got two of the ticklist.

(Yeah, I'm a bloke. No I won't be insisting Lesbians sleep with me or they are fatphobic, I'm not woke enough for that yet.)

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 26/06/2018 13:45

So women are incels now? I can't help but be reminded of all those videos and blog posts scolding women for not making themselves sexually available to males who identify as lesbians.

Women don't usually have to guilt trip or intimidate people into bed.

DJLippy · 26/06/2018 13:30

Sissy boys get their wives to fight their battles.

That's a strike isn't it?

That's what I though too.

You'd think our unfeminine sensible shoes would minimize that sort of thing...

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 26/06/2018 12:58

So the womyn 'tripped over their own feet'?

Interesting

Womyn aren't half clumsy all that tripping over their own feet, walking in to doors etc

jgrobinson · 26/06/2018 12:52

BTW Kitty Striker is a woman of the XY variety.

Her wife is trans:

Womans PLace UK have 5 demands including:

"Government to consult on how self-declaration will impact upon data gathering – such as crime , employment, pay and health statistics – and monitoring of sex-based discrimination such as the gender pay gap."

Just a reminder that a dozen miles away from the site of this Dyke (?) March and the Public Library exhibition celebrating anti-female violence, a lesbian couple and their son were murdered; a transactivist is standing trial for the crime.

www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/11/18/she-gained-fame-as-an-early-transgender-advocate-now-shes-charged-with-triple-homicide/?utm_term=.bfc0d62c05fc

Note that if Dana is convicted this will be recorded as a triple homicide committed by a woman.

Oscarino · 26/06/2018 12:35

Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?

Oscarino · 26/06/2018 12:31

Tripped on their own feet

For fuck’s sake they’re not even trying.

LangCleg · 26/06/2018 12:30

"She fell down the stairs, that's why she has a black eye."

So the communication features so far are:

*obfuscate meanings of all words
*use the language of domestic violence
*use the language of incels

... to accuse women of being incels.

Nice.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/06/2018 12:27

From the article.

The TERFs claim they were pushed down — other eyewitnesses say that the TERFs tripped on their own feet in the ensuing altercation after shoving those chanting “hey hey, ho ho, transphobia’s got to go”.

"She fell down the stairs, that's why she has a black eye."

From the thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3261705-Turns-out-Hampstead-swimming-ponds-are-single-SEX-after-all

I believe the majority of people have a shared expectation of what a single-sex space or service is.

If this definition is to be changed then all stakeholders in society should be aware of this and able to consider it and contribute.

This can't be restricted to people from certain age group/ identity / educational experience / user of certain social media sites/ members of political groups etc.

To do so is to disenfranchise others.

OldCrone · 26/06/2018 12:22

Damnthat
What rights do you currently have that you believe people are trying to remove?

Oscarino · 26/06/2018 12:19

I think it is dishonest. How can you have any sort of dialogue with people who use words that have established meanings but are using them to mean something else - private definitions that they refuse to share.

If they made up their own words it would be one thing, jargon can be irritating but at least you know what you’re dealing with. It’s the taking of common words with common meanings and suddenly declaring that everything is complicated and beyond the understanding of any but a super woke in crowd.

R0wantrees · 26/06/2018 12:17

From the thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3241837-Why-has-the-trans-lobby-been-so-successful?

Some time ago, as part of my degree, we studied linguistic techniques used in propaganda so I was curious to reacquaint myself.

The following is from a very basic guide but, I think interesting:

Propaganda Techniques

people.howstuffworks.com/propaganda1.htm

"A commonly used technique is name-calling , which takes its cue from playground behavior. Often, this technique is utilized to divert attention when someone is trying to avoid answering a question or providing hard facts.

The bandwagon technique encourages the viewer or listener to join the crowd by aligning with the most popular, successful side of an issue

Glittering generalities are very common in political propaganda. Glittering generalities combine words that have positive connotations with a concept that is particularly beloved.

Card stacking is the presentation of only the details, statistics and other information that impacts public opinion positively. In other words, the bad stuff is left out entirely.

The plain folks technique is designed to get ordinary citizens to identify with a political candidate or other figure that they otherwise may have nothing in common with.

Propaganda based on fear is designed to scare people into choosing sides.

The transfer technique is more subliminal (operating on a subconscious rather than conscious level) than the other techniques we've discussed. Using this method, a group or person attempts to align themselves with a beloved symbol in an effort to transfer the status of the symbol to the cause they represent.

Many other propaganda methods exist, but they subsist on the same basic principles as the ones listed above: Manipulate the message to portray an issue or person in the most favorable light possible, and when necessary, make the opposing side look shabby in comparison.

Many people believe that propaganda does more harm than its proponents would admit to. Some go so far as to claim that propaganda is a bedfellow of censorship because they both serve as tools for repression, confusion and suppression of information"

Of course it is important to acknowledge that the use of these makes no comment on the worthiness of the cause. They have been employed to great effect by many admirable people
