Isn't that great? Terry has got the fastest ever meet time for a girl! Poor Bridget is now third.

I wonder if Terry and Andraya will now get university scholarships based on their poor track performances when compared to their male peers?

Men should accept feminine men

I don't recall our rugby team ever refusing to accept someone because they were too feminine or anyone being told they couldn't compete in an athletics event at school for being effeminate. And lets be blunt here, if you've seen these athletes, then on what basis are you calling them "too feminine"? Most of them are hulks.

No, I think it's pretty clear, especially given that many of them have a previous and mediocre history competing in the male events, that if they could win the men's events they would. What happens is having failed to achieve great success in them, they switch to the women's where they dominate, with some exceptions.

They're not in the women's teams because they've been excluded from the men's. Never even heard of an instance.

The comments also include a cache of the original article - here are the last couple of paragraphs: "Mouncey played the final three games in the ruck for Ainslie and kicked 15 goals, with Canberra officials ruling she was not a safety concern.

She broke her own ribs in one incident and one player broke her leg in a tangle of legs with Mouncey.

“I am female like 50 per cent of the population. I may have been born a bit different but there was a real sense of normality when I transitioned,” she said.”

Men should accept feminine men

That's it isn't it - that would solve a lot of this.

OrchidInTheSun · 08/06/2018 08:04

NotBad - there's a link to the HeraldSun in this thread which mentions Mouncey breaking a woman's leg but it's now behind a paywall: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3059263-190cm-100kg-size-15-feet-transwoman-tries-to-join-womens-Aussie-Rules-football

However, if you read the comments under this article: gendertrender.wordpress.com/2017/10/19/australian-football-league-disqualifies-male-candidate-from-womens-league-draft/ you'll see that all references to the broken leg have been scrubbed by the trans right to forget the past (which is why you won't find any news reports on Martin Ponting's rapes or Paris Lees' conviction)

Actually, reading a bit today, Hannah Mouncey, previous member of the Australian men's international handball team, has announced a return to handball after a stint in Aussie rules football. A return to women's handball:

daimbars how is it scaremongering to mention actual events?
scaremongering

ˈskɛːmʌŋɡərɪŋ/

noun

the spreading of frightening or ominous reports or rumours.

"claims of scaremongering about the fate of jobs"

Do you mean we are spreading frightening or ominous reports? Should we just keep quiet then?

BronwenFrideswide · 07/06/2018 23:39

daimbars the screen shot you referenced earlier in the thread stated that the organisers of any sport wishing to exclude transwomen would have to prove that such exclusion is the only way to make it fair for everyone and I take issue with this, the only proof required should be on the basis of biological sex.

Why are women being continually expected to justify and prove why they need and want sex segregated spaces and sports?

Ereshkigal · 07/06/2018 23:34

No, because they are anti-woman. They'll still be calling us anti-trans and pretending they oppose anything that's bad for women though.

YY.

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 07/06/2018 23:26

All of the guidance now given to schools regarding sports says that boys identifying as trans must not be excluded from girls' sports

How the fuck can people be so stupid?

CharlieParley · 07/06/2018 23:20

For the one who says it can't happen here - it is happening here.

All of the guidance now given to schools regarding sports says that boys identifying as trans must not be excluded from girls' sports. We also have at least one teenaged male athlete competing against the girls in Scotland (cannot recall where right now).

Most importantly, all trans orgs have lobbied hard to end all single-sex provisions and the government in its response to the trans equality inquiry report says this in Recommendation 13:

We agree that there are likely to be few occasions in sport where exclusions are justified to ensure fair competition or the safety of competitors.

Given that in competitive sports male athletes are always at an advantage against female athletes (apart from extremely rare exceptions thought to be in extreme endurance sports), speaking of "few occasions" is ludicrous or ignorant or indifferent to women's and girl's sports.

There is no mention in Recommendation 13 of the EA, but speaking of justified exclusions is clearly a reference to the EA and it is an insidiuous one at that - because how can a sports club provide the required evidence to justify excluding males? It's been the accepted state of affairs that competitive sports is segregated by sex (and by age), so this evidence hasn't ever been needed before.

So the claim it couldn't happen here and demanding that we should therefore stop worrying about it happening elsewhere has been overtaken by real life events already.

BronwenFrideswide · 07/06/2018 23:11

daimbars the reason it is highlighted, and I'm sure you know this, is because if a blind eye is turned and/or something becomes acceptable at one level it doesn't take long for it to become acceptable higher up. When the impact is noted at higher levels and questions are then asked it is too late, the precedent has been set.

NotBadConsidering · 07/06/2018 22:56

snufflehuff I read that post as ironic maybe?

FermatsTheorem that's interesting about Mouncey. How did you find that out? I've been keeping an eye on that as I'm in Oz but hadn't seen anything. Recent article in Guardian by HM was terrible.

Agrona · 07/06/2018 22:39

Sorry, cross post.

Agrona · 07/06/2018 22:39

WUM might be Wind Up Merchant?

LangCleg · 07/06/2018 22:34

What is a WUM?

Wind up merchant.

LangCleg · 07/06/2018 22:33

Women: if transactivism isn't opposed, A, B and C will happen.

Daimbars and chums: you're being alarmist because you hate trans people. A, B and C will never happen. That would be unfair and ridiculous.

Women: A has happened.

Daimbars and chums: you're only highlighting A because you hate transpeople.

Women: B has happened.

Daimbars and chums: you're only highlighting B because you hate transpeople.

Women: C has happened.

Daimbars and chums: you're only highlighting C because you hate transpeople.

By the time we have got to Z, will Daimbars and chums concede we have a point? No, because they are anti-woman. They'll still be calling us anti-trans and pretending they oppose anything that's bad for women though.

frazzled1 · 07/06/2018 22:32

It's not scaremongering to see Connecticut now has a boys’ track competition, a unisex track competition but no girls’ competition.

Picassospaintbrush · 07/06/2018 22:31

What is a WUM?

TimeLady · 07/06/2018 22:29

I don't think you're a transactivist either, daimbars

At least the other WUMs have had the decency to keep quiet on this thread.

Picassospaintbrush · 07/06/2018 22:23

I can't take you seriously when you use the word scaremongering.

daimbars · 07/06/2018 22:15

Pratchet believe it or not we're on the same side and I'm not a trans activist. I have said a million times on here I'm in favour of keeping the exemptions in the Equality Act - search my name if you don't believe me.

Calmly and rationally proposing to keep the existing Equality Act exemptions is so much more logical in my mind than sharing scaremongering stories about the actions of a handful of trans women that aren't even in the UK.

lightthedarkness · 07/06/2018 22:11

Amazing Daimbars that you spend so such time on here given that you so disapprove of women's priorities, political campaigning and focus. I wonder what on earth motivates you to be here?

spontaneousgiventime · 07/06/2018 22:09

Always women and girls losing out and always TRA/MRA telling us we are wrong for stating this. It's sickening.

RunningWild12 · 07/06/2018 22:08

And if they get their sports scholarships to university then decide on graduation that they’re not trans after all, but men, and so can enter the job market with all the advantages men have ...
