OK I just donated, small donation as have next to nothing left after paying all bills and such but every little helps I think.

When donating I saw

So if this is true..are they taking the refunds out of Jennifers bank account or something? Not entirely sure how this whole thing works.

Donated in my real name also. Let them add me to their shitlist. I really could not care less. And if gofundme are tits about this, I also have my provisional ready to send them. You know, just incase I am not the only person of my name in the world

Yes, I think this is counter-productive to the transactivists aim tbh. This will just anger people even more and yes, get them to maybe donate more than they usually would.

This is silly. The amount of times I have seen people use obviously fake names on gofundme is ridiculous. I remember one once where it was something to do with raising funds for someone who had been hit with a benefit sanction for (believe it or not) taking their ill child to A+E rather than signing on..and there were a bunch of people donating under 'Theresa May' and such. I have seen multiple donations by Donald Trump too..I refuse to believe each of those donations was made by someone with the actual name Donald Trump.

Also, please provide a government-issued photo ID or link to a social media profile for yourself if possible. Then I can review this information and help you move forward.

I had my jokey harmless female pseudonym donation refunded but not the anonymous donation. No sense of humour some people

Managed to redonate eventually yesterday after several attempts with a different email address using a vpn - doubled it!

The payment went through. I can't find anywhere on there that you can't donate in another name than your own or why they can block you from donating again in any name...

I find it really scary and sobering that very clearly freedom of expression and thought do not apply when it comes to trans-issues. When I scroll through the donations on the GoFundMe page the vast majority are anonymous and I would surmise this is because donors fear the consequences (oft seen on Twitter etc) of donating in their own name. It is particularly ironic, not to mention frightening, that the issue has arisen in the context of the representation of the female sex on one of our two largest political parties in a, supposedly, democratic country.

I posted the 'Urgent phishing email' a few days ago and today I've had an identical email from gofund me with requests for ID and any links I might have to social media re the campaign. !
What is going on ?

It took 4 days for the first donation to be refunded so will just wait and see what happens. Can't believe they wouldn't accept a donation from Ada Lovelace!

TBF to Gofundme, I'm quite impressed that they haven't just refunded the whole lot, and closed the campaign for being hate speech or something.

I'm sure, if they can, then they will have refunded that one.

I think JJ should end this campaign, withdraw the refunds and restart it on a less women hating more trustworthy platform.

They clearly don't have a set policy and are making this up as they go along and they clearly are taking a partisan stance regarding the campaign.

Oh well, fuck em. Three people who I have told about how they have been trying to shut this down have all donated, all three of them would have probably not bothered if it was simply about the AWS thing so they are well and truly shooting themselves in the foot. Even if they close the whole campaign down, there are other platforms and I reckon it would just light an even bigger fire under those that see the injustice in this. .

I think its almost certain that they have someone working for them that is a TRA, from this post tbh. No reason at all to be refunding anon donations. Especially with it being the bigger one that was refunded..I wonder if they are blocking all larger donations now. Did the 500 from last night ever get added to the total does anyone know?
