Pet cremation

My practice does not make much profit from either communal or individual cremations , we use a big company and they are reliable and professional but we do not charge high fees, we charge no consult fee for euthanasia and our euth fee along with cremation fee togther are often a lot less than the independents cremation fee alone.
Care and dignity are massively important to my team whether the owner takes the pet home to bury , uses our cremation service or a more local independent pet cremation service.
We are more than happy to help the client with the independent company who's fees are vastly more than ours , we give paw prints, nose prints and fur clips at no extra charge ,this is not the case at the independent company.
I couldn't disagree more with your comments ,veterinary care and cremation rely very much on the same skill sets, i too have a lot of experience in this.

I'm sorry for your loss.
The return time depends on where the company is, at my practice it can be up to 14 days but we always make this very clear.
If the owner doesn't want to wait this time the local independent pet cremation companies are quicker.
Give your practice a call to chase things up they won't mind.

In our case, my vet came to the house for the euthanasia, and took my boy away . The vets arranged the individual cremation, and the crematorium staff called me to ask how I wanted the ashes returned. They also called me to say they had been returned to my vet.

When I picked them up, the vet nurse had done nose and paw prints for me, and the staff signed a card. They were stored in the back, in a simple bag , by the food deliveries, which he would have loved .

They are a small independent vet , I think it was all as kind and respectful as it could have been.

@tsmainsqueezethey called not long after I posted. I’m currently at the. St waiting for them to get them. I’ve been waiting ages while they serve someone else. I’m not bothered by them being handed over the reception desk in front of a waiting room. A private room would make it even worse I think.
