WTF just happened?

Haven't been feeling well for a few days, have had a sickness bug and haven't been able to keep much down.
Sitting on my laptop in bed watching YouTube just now and all of a sudden with no warning, my eyesight went totally black, my head was pounding, I felt warm all over and my arms were tingling. It went within 10 seconds or so but I genuinely was terrified for those 10 seconds.
Something to worry about or just related to being dehydrated etc?

I had this in the past. I went to the A&E, I'm not in the UK, and it was a bad case of dehydration. I hope you get answers soon.

Still waiting on a call, I am hoping it’s just dehydration related as have been vomiting bile for the last couple of days (!) worst sickness I have had in a long time.
DH apparently utterly unconcerned and snoring away next to me 🙄

If you have had just bile for a couple of days, what have you been drinking?

Regardless of the 'black out'
Sounds like you need some iv fluids
Your kidneys maybe starting to struggle / already have kidney injury

Sounds like a hemiplegic migraine. I had migraine most of my life but thankfully only one of these. Get checked out as they feel like you're having a stroke at the time.

Just water but it has been hard to keep much down due to the constant sickness…
probably had it since Friday - but the sickness seemed to get worse yesterday.

I’ve had migraine for years but never a hemiplegic one - have had some cluster headaches before which were utterly vile.
oddly I’m was due another migraine Botox session a couple of months ago but they cancelled it and are pushing CGRP instead which I’m yet to start.
wonder if the lack of migraine Botox allowed some odd one off hemiplegic one to happen?

An a&e doctor gave me some handy advice: visual disturbances associated with migraines usually come on gradually and ADD something to your vision (zig zags, rainbows, shimmer)
A stroke often comes on as sudden visual disturbances that TAKE AWAY from your vision.. tunnel vision, sudden blackout
Based on this, I would get checked out. Hopefully it's just extreme dehydration as you suspect. Hope you feel better soon!

Found a blood pressure thing and it’s showing normal, hoping that’s a good sign it’s nothing too serious

It sounds like it could be connected to your migraines. I have them and and experienced what was eventually written up as a TIA.

During my tests and treatment, the dr told me that the medical profession has only scratched the surface of migrainous pathology. Glad you're getting checked out anyway.

Had this once after sickness bug in a hot country. Was completely dehydrated, needed salt. Call 111 at the very least.

I get this occasionally from low blood pressure. Were you lying down a lot from being ill? Also a good load of carbs at once can make me sleepy.
Would still get checked out though as low blood pressure can be as bad as high.

Migraine is the least researched medical condition in the world, even though it accounts for a high percentage of people on disability.

I once had a sickness bug whilst breastfeeding and something very similar to this happened except I did actually black out as I woke up on the kitchen floor. I went to A&E and they said it was caused from dehydration.

Not everyone who faints needs to call an ambulance every time!

However if this had happened to me as described I think I would have done, or had someone take me to A&E, as it sounds like it could have been a stroke/TIA.

Could have been a TIA. A Transient Ischemic Attack. Basically, a tiny stroke. Please to to a doctor and have some kind of MRI scan.
