I’ve been bitten three times over the last few weeks by mosquitoes and while two of them have come and gone as usual, the first one I got on my arm has flared up three separate times.
It seemed to have gone after the first time, and the bump was pretty much flat. Then I stupidly scratched around the area because I thought it was spent. But no, it swelled up mightily - even worse than the original bite - and the bump turned into what looked like a blister.
Managed to get that to go down again with hydrocortisone cream and then the other day when it looked like it had gone it was just so itchy. Yes, I scratched around the area again - I just couldn’t help myself! - and now it’s got what looks like contact dermatitis round the area. The bump thankfully is still quite flat but the area around it is warm to the touch and looks like hives. It’s not as bad as it was yesterday so it’s going down again.
I really don’t think it’s infected as the skin hasn’t been broken and I’ve been super careful apart from the stupid scratching.
Has anyone else had a bite that kept re-flaring like this? Dr Google says it might be Skeeter Syndrome.
