Been sent an odd video by friend, unsure what to think

Friends with 2 guys I used to work with who are about 3-4 years younger than me (I'm mid 30s] I worked with them for nearly 2 years but no longer work for that department, there are a few other friends I keep in touch with from that job but they don't know each other.

I see the 2 guys about 3 times a year for a coffee/lunch and i did so last week. I'm married, i think they're both single but never been anything untoward, they've never flirted or anything. We talk about work, property market, travel, cars, usual stuff. Odd whatsapp in between for birthdays, job news etc.

Anyway one of them has just sent me a video out of nowhere of a young woman with very large/pert breasts running in a swimsuit causing them to bob up and down, and a group of techy sort of men are breaking their necks to stare at her.

Not replied and no idea what to do, shall I just ignore? Completely out of the blue, he's quite a serious sort of man too, I've never heard him talk about women or anything. Any thoughts?

We never send each other videos even, as I say the in-between messaging is very sporadic!

I would reply, 'I'm assuming that wasn't for me," and leave it there.

mumuseli · 13/07/2026 20:49

I would probably reply with "Why have you sent me that?!"

I would reply, 'I'm assuming that wasn't for me," and leave it there.

It could be a genuine mistake or deliberate. Either way, let him know not to do it again. And realise that he's actually a creep.

Pointyleaf · 13/07/2026 20:50

I'd think he'd been hacked. I've had various odd videos sent over the years which were nothing to do with the supposed sender.

Letelegraphe · 13/07/2026 20:50

I had a sleazy former colleague in his 50s send me instagram memes about boobs and camel toe 🤮(blocked him) so I'm sensitive to this kind of thing now.

I’d just reply with a “?”
and he will no doubt be mortified and it was
sent accidentally

roycroppersshopper · 13/07/2026 20:50

Surely a mistake?

Stillso · 13/07/2026 20:51

Is it a gif?

Pointyleaf · 13/07/2026 20:51

Don't reply unless you can do it on another platform.

meganorks · 13/07/2026 20:51

I'd assume he's sent it to the wrong person. So I'd probably reply with that 'did you mean to send that to me?!'

AnonymityAnonymity · 13/07/2026 20:51

I agree anout you replying and asking if he meant to send it to you.
Tbh it would rather put me off meeting these guys again because I"d rather not know their fantasies

GingerLeopard · 13/07/2026 20:52

It’s not on TikTok is it? It’s soooo easy to accidentally send people videos on there, I do it about once a week, and receive similar from friends who ave accidentally done it to me.

TheBlueKoala · 13/07/2026 20:52

A mistake surely. How embarrassed he will be..

Letelegraphe · 13/07/2026 20:52

It's just a short video rather than a gif. I'll just send 'was this meant for me?'

This is what I’m thinking

sounds like a Gif to me

Letelegraphe · 13/07/2026 20:53

Just checked and it's not tik tok or a gif, ill see what he replies

Wow that was quick!!

30DegreesHighAndRising · 13/07/2026 20:57

Phew?
So it's fine that he sends stuff like this to other people?

Letelegraphe · 13/07/2026 20:57

I had another male colleague message me saying 'You look gorgeous on your profile pic ;)' then when I pulled him up on it he claimed he had meant to send it to his girlfriend and sent it to me by accident. I'm hoping it was the truth.

I mean not really, but..i don't know what to think. Just as long as it wasn't for me.

Of course it is. Other people might like it/appreciate it, whatever. Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean others can't or don't! Get a grip my gosh!

Of course it’s fine
it was a jokey video about pervy men

Nn9011 · 13/07/2026 21:06

Was it a tiktok video by any chance? Clearly his fyp is questionable but it's a common problem for people to accidentally share videos, I've done it myself a couple of times. Thankfully my fyp is normal so they were not questionable ones haha
