And another musing, the letter has been confirmed as being sent from a person close to TMS so why would this person’s letter be sent to the fixated fan of the royals department?

I think Thomas Jnr and Samantha were considered to be nuisances by Meghan the Sussex office.

Her niece? Maybe? There was some drama around the wedding wasn't there?

I remember seeing her niece in one of the docos, saying how close the two of them are but M told her that even though she would love to have niece at the wedding she couldn't invite her without inviting niece's mother (Samantha Markle?) and other family members. So she was jettisoned from the wedding too, despite the niece being estranged from her mother since niece was 6 years old.

Slightly off topic, but just watching Graham Norton and William is genuinely hilarious! Such a good interviewee. Really nice to see him relaxed and laughing.

I’m very pleased (considering I’m supposed to be a republican!). I know I keep banging on about this but what this country needs right now is stability.

If William helps to offer stability from within the royal family at this time, given that he will be the next Head of State, then right now I’m glad about that.

I think it's a PR disaster for them. The Sun is widely regarded as the lowest of tabloids, the most seedy, tawdry, grubby, sordid, low-rent rag. For them to be so obviously making an alliance with them just cheapens and tarnishes their image more than ever. They've fallen so far. Royal glitter? They couldnt be further than that now, they are giving more Katie Price & Peter Andre vibes. Meghan may garner some sympathy but only the sort of rubber-necking, lost-all-dignity, disaster-zone sympathy like with the "I found out my lover was really my dad" people you see in take a break magazine. They've become a cheap soap opera that people will watch for entertainment. This has changed everything for them IMO.

BunnyBunbunbun · 24/10/2026 07:47

Apparently the letter was sent by someone close to the Markle family who knows Thomas Markle Sr. This is odd. Why would someone who knows Thomas Markle personally choose a random British police unit to inform about alleged crimes not committed in the UK?

Also, who was sending physical letters in 2018? If you want to report a crime, that's not how you do it.

Tiddlywinks63 · 24/10/2026 07:43

Candleabra · 23/10/2026 22:42

So Meghan saw an anonymous letter accusing her much loved father of unspeakable crimes, cut him off without a word, presumed someone else was investigating, kept quiet for 8 years and is now thankful that the Sun newspaper has uncovered this and feels vindicated?

🙄 it’s beyond weird.

I’m wondering how the writer found out where to send the letter as not even a freedom of information request had it made public knowledge.

www.met.police.uk/foi-ai/metropolitan-police/disclosure-2024/july-2024/information-fixated-threat-assessment/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

I very much doubt the letter was sent to a minor police dept very few people even know exists.

As I theorised above, it's much more likely that the letter was initially sent to Meghan, intercepted by staff and then sent on to the 'Fixated Persons' dept. In any case, the existence of said letter should never have been made public. But as we've seen from their 'security fight', neither Harry nor Meghan has any concept of confidentiality and discretion.

It's been clear since the Great Return that the scummiest of all the eevil Briddish tabloids is now their go to PR outlet of choice. Her 'friend' even explicitly thanked them yesterday. So the couple who fought a war against the tabloids are now besties with the worst of them. Their fans must have whiplash keeping up with all the massive contradictions.

Yes, they've clearly buddied up with The Sun, probably because it's happy to publish anything without compunction. Where else would The Sun have seen a copy of the letter if not directly from Meghan?

The other intriguing coincidence is that The Sun is the rag that Thomas Markle Jr went to to get this story broken, a UK rag, when he is American and his father is in America. Why not go to the US tabloids, e.g. the also scuzzy and Murdoch-owned New York Post?

I'm not suggesting a conspiracy between Meghan and Thomas Jr, but there's definitely something going on in the background involving The Sun and both Meghan and Thomas Jr.

diddl · 24/10/2026 07:40

"She’s definitely winning the PR campaign at the moment."

I think it just shows that she had a valid reason for cutting her dad off, although why she played it out in the press is beyond me.

Everything else that she & H have done are their choices & unconnected to her dad & what she knew when imo.

Tiddlywinks63 · 24/10/2026 07:40

I find it difficult to believe anything concerning Meghan and Harry. They seem to live in a parallel universe where they have to be the centre of attention whether it’s factual or not. This latest debacle does nothing to paint her in a good light especially if it’s taken 8 years for her to speak about it. I don’t think that this is the reason they precipitously left the USA, I think there’s something else more shocking yet to come to light. It must be exhausting living in their world of make believe royalty and exposès.

LookOutLookOutTomCruiseIsAbout · 24/10/2026 07:39

I seem to remember part of Phillip Schofield’s downfall was because he knew about his brother’s crimes but did nothing and stayed silent. I don’t remember him using the exploitation of children as an opportunity to merch candles and bookmarks though.

diddl · 24/10/2026 07:38

If the letter is credible I guess it adds weight to what TMJ is now saying?

Nothing having happened to TMS thus far doesn't mean that he wasn't looked into though.

Perhaps with that going on it might have been better to stay within the "bubble" of the RF?

Perhaps M didn't think anything would come of it?

The problem is everyone ( the met, the fbi, authorities in the Philippines, even TM) are bound by legal processes and timelines so have released statements that seem lacking in information compare to Meghan’s.

She can say whatever she wants, and is saying it all quickly. Most people don’t know enough or care about the ins and outs of the HAM saga. She’s definitely winning the PR campaign at the moment. Her words and actions appear entirely reasonable (until you look at them with any critical thinking).

"She’s definitely winning the PR campaign at the moment."

I doubt it. Most people don't pay that much attention and are more likely to subconsciously associate her with chaos and drama and this would just strike them as more of that.

Christ they’ve cooked up a whole strategic campaign with the Sun, one article after another 😬

What if it was Doria who wrote the letter? Sent it to the Fixated dept because of the intense grief her DD was getting from her ex husband, half sister, half brother at the time and told them these three people are ruining her daughter’s life? Would explain why it was enough for Meghan to cut her dad off on the basis of such allegations. A wife would know, and she trusts her mum.

ETA maybe not her mum, on reflection (should have thought a bit more). That would be too close to the bone, even for me. Also, presumably her mum would have told her she’d written that letter, it wouldn’t have taken the Met to tell Meghan about it. But perhaps it was someone else Meghan trusts completely to know such a thing, not needing a police investigation to prove it to her.

And the way she plays the press, when H supposedly hates them… (maybe they owe her one after HAM got the legal bill for DM)

Exactly! Most people will believe what they read and become Team Meghan. Sorry to be cynical… I’m in good company here, of course!

There was also absolutely nothing stopping Meghan contacting the relevant authorities in the US with this info. British authorities have zero jurisdiction in this area. They can’t investigate anything.

There was nothing stopping her contacting other countries where she knew Markle had moved to and providing the information she had.

There was nothing stopping her chasing up any investigation in the relevant countries.

Theres also nothing stopping her stating that she received a letter with x, y, z allegations. Thats just saying the truth. That’s not defamation. Defamation would be stating person A did thing B without any evidence of it being true.

Theres a tonne
that Meghan could have done but we are none the wiser at the moment if she actually took any action at all over the 8 years.

Edited

I really don’t think she would ever have wanted any of this out there (who would?) & left the authorities to deal with it. The press will have known about TM, looked into him, and they’ve obviously now got something. An investigation.

TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow · 24/10/2026 06:26

She’s probably had the statement ready in her head for a long time and was able to just sit down and start typing as there’s no way these allegations would never have seen the light of day eventually.

Again, I think it’s very important not to let posts deliberately muddling up the timeline go without being challenged. If the allegations are true it’s vital the children aren’t abused a second time by the Sussexes and the mad fans amongst their followers.

The are so many quotes and opinions about this latest story; it's wild out there. I've no idea what to believe.

All I can say is if it's eventually revealed as yet another attempt by Markle to play victim, gain public sympathy and dominate the headlines, it's reprehensible and should bury her (metaphorically) once and for all - but will it?

You’d wonder how she was so quick with the statement, and letter scenario.

The paper have obviously had this since summer, and there’s back & forth…

They must have something concrete on TM, and made a deal of some sort.

AtIusvue · 24/10/2026 00:39

yes, there’s even an ad for As ever and their new products at the end of the article. Actually awful!

Whaaaaaaat? (As Oprah might say)

I haven’t seen the articles - is Meghan really using this story about sexual abuse of children to advertise the new As ever seasonal range?

Child abuse becomes a money making scheme, really? I didn’t think it possible to come up with something more callous than using photos with sick children and survivors of the Bondi massacre to advertise clothes, but here we are.

I wonder how long this has been in the planning and how many more of these articles / ads there are to come. Ugh you can just imagine the PR planning meetings - ok say I’m brave, say how I was right all along, put that everyone owes me a massive apology, then put the As ever ad in with the link to the website.

Awful.

It didn't take much for her to make it all about herself . She had to get a dig at the press .

" I hope it can now be understood that despite certain media publications' distortions over the years any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason : to protect them"

Read this on page 6. She refers to her children "them" she did not have children with Harry in 2018. Of course, they were likely to have children and intended to. She also adds " to protect them" Nonetheless doesn't the wording jump the gun ? Wouldn't you have said that " at that time I was also concerned for any child/children we might have? Did she know she was definitely going to have more than one child. so the statement is worded in the current state of them as now parents but applying it retrospectively BEFORE they had children. Subtle difference. It also frames her as a victim but a brave mum protecting her children (Not child another subtle difference) so agree with some pp that it's an attempt to garner public support and sympathy.

It exploits our assumptions that newlyweds will be intending to have children. If they were challenged it can just be hand waved away "ah yes we were intending to have children"

Anyway, just finished watch W on Graham Norton. That’s probably the longest I’ve seen him on film. What a difference compared to watching H’s numerous episodes of filmed content. No fidgeting, he looked engaged, he looked happy, he let others speak, and he made a couple of funny quips that didn’t sound like he was trying. Most importantly, there was no whinging!

I agree. What a sharp, intelligent, witty man he is. Charming, funny and self deprecating. What a contrast to Harry who is just so negative, self absorbed and whiny. Plus William is actually doing something and having a productive life. He's making a difference, not making everything all about himself.
Two brothers who couldn't be more different.

Chaostheory12 · 24/10/2026 04:50

None of this makes any sense at all. Something fishy afoot.
