@Eastie77Returns JackandJack can't even crack a smile these days, let alone a case!
His crumpled up face attempt at "crying" is funny though 😄

the80sweregreat · 12/10/2026 18:04

Jack n Jack must know where the bodies are as the actor has been in it for many years now and the acting is pretty hit and miss. The likes of Phil and Dee show him up , but the writers like the character it seems. A lifer lol

Shellingbynight · 12/10/2026 19:18

Yes Jack breaks the law several times a year so none of this is new, how does he keep getting away with it.

I agree I find it quite funny watching him screw up his face to cry. Bless him, he's giving it a go 😆

the80sweregreat · 12/10/2026 19:27

Jack n Jack is just part of the furniture now isn’t he.
Maybe he’ll have a big storyline and punch Craig or bury him in the woods with Sean’s help ( and still keep his job ! lol)

cramptramp · 12/10/2026 19:49

Ned is another tiny man, like jumpers and Vinny. Lot of them around the square.

He does try with the crying but it’s cringeworthy. The only thing he does semi effectively is shout. He was in the Bill for years as well. It seems Directors see something in him that the rest of us just miss🤷🏽‍♀️

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 12/10/2026 20:21

Is Ned’s accent supposed to be an East End accent? I’m hard of hearing but he sounds really different to everyone else.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 12/10/2026 20:24

Hi. Thanks for the new thread.

Shellingbynight · 12/10/2026 20:26

Yes shouting and angry-face are what Jack does best! Maybe Scott is a really nice reliable guy, he certainly isn't there for the complexity of his acting.

I've just watched today's episode. There are far too many new and clearly disposable actors (entire Hawkins clan and Craig), it works much better when they focus on the established cast. (Speaking of which, Priya ran away to stop Max claiming her unborn baby, but Max doesn't actually even know he's the father yet, they totally dropped that part of the storyline.)

Ned is lurking everywhere overhearing things to his advantage. It's absolutely painful. And I am still not buying the football team and its coaches being homophobic. And Ryder seems to look older every day, it makes his storyline so ridiculous😆

What I'd really like to see, instead of all this nonsense, is Cindy and Elaine on their holiday.🥳

the80sweregreat · 12/10/2026 20:36

Shelling, confused by E’laine as we saw her the other day in the cafe and she’s meant to be with Cindy !
( she spoke to Ian so must have been last Thursday?)
He told her he didn’t want to see her anymore :(

the80sweregreat · 12/10/2026 20:41

Ned is originally from Kent , so his accent wouldn’t be very east end. He definitely has a Dirty Den stance.

Shellingbynight · 12/10/2026 21:01

Oh you’re right he has gone all Dirty Den!

elaine said to Ian she was just setting off on honeymoon with Cinders, it was conveniently a bit delayed.

the timing is all over the shop.

the80sweregreat · 12/10/2026 21:03

Oh , I missed that with E’laine! sorry. I wondered where E had gone !!

the80sweregreat · 12/10/2026 21:04

E’laine and Ian were good together, it’s a shame he can’t commit.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 12/10/2026 21:36

Ned is a good baddie. I think him and Gemma will do well in the show. Poor Kat too. Craig is such a dirt bag.

the80sweregreat · 12/10/2026 21:38

Jazz hands was nice to Kat. He acted that well.

I thought so too and with Denise. We won’t get overly confident about his acting yet.
He probably seems better as Jodie and Ryder are so poor at acting. It’s a low bar. 😝

storminabuttercup · 12/10/2026 22:53

The guy who plays Ned was, if I remember correctly a dodgy character in a channel 5 thing I watched, it also had Jo Joyner and Tamsin Outhwaite in from EE and Angela griffin. It was one of those utterly bonkers ones (bit like eastenders)

as I’ve mentored before I hold character grudges so I don’t like that he tried to steal Martha from Humphrey in beyond paradise 😆

Holidaymodeon · 12/10/2026 09:16

Some time ago Ben Wadey chose Ryder actor to be nominated for best newcomer at the soap awards.

it didn’t make any sense at the time but it’s obvious now that Ryder and the wider Hawkins Family are going to be big news in future storylines 😭😭😭😭🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈😭😭😭😭😭
tbh Ned seems a good actor and probably an evil character but the rest of them can get in the bin, keep the originals and bring back teddy jumpers.
all the gay hate from Ned and the coach feels so outdated, perhaps I’m naive and mix in more tolerant circles but I am shocked a coach of young people would display such blatant homophobia

Edited

I said exactly this to my DH. It feels like such an outdated storyline. It made sense with Christian and Syed, but this is just really lazy. I know there are young people whose families struggle with their sexuality, but it doesn't feel right with this family at all.
And good grief, if they recycle Suki's closeted parent storyline that would be ridiculous.

NoisyBrain · 12/10/2026 23:00

Most of tonight’s episode was ridiculous, especially Ned The Lurker conveniently overhearing yet another thing he can use to his advantage 🙄
I did think the scene with Kat and Josh was well done though.

Why is Zack staying at Peacock Palace

I was with Ryder when he said "It's Nicola's roof".

Agree with pps the vic chat was so clunky and about 50 years out of date. Literally no one cares these days as PP said people don't even really "come out" now. I hope Ryder tells Gemma and stands by him and tells little big man Ned to sod off.

murasaki · 12/10/2026 23:02

Because Jean, Mo et all got evicted from Suki's and he was staying with them. They all went to the vic and he went there.
