Is Tropic skincare any good for rosacea?

Hi, just looking for any personal experiences of people who’ve used this skincare brand please? It was particularly recommended for helping with rosacea. I just don’t want to shell out on something yet again to find that it doesn’t do anything to calm down the redness!

Has anything else particularly helped rosacea sufferers- medication or diet-wise? Willing to try just about anything at this point!!

Interesting about the dairy! I’m going to try cutting both dairy and gluten out to see if it helps🤞

I’d do one and then the other. Don’t be like me and drop dairy and introduce the Green People toiletries at the same time and then not know which one worked 🤦‍♀️

Eventually I got the courage to try different toiletries and it was the dairy Smile

@ButtonNoseBunnyi ended up going to a private dermatologist for treatment of rosacea and it's been life changing. Some wisdom to pass on:

Anti inflammatory diet as the inflammation isnt only skin deep
Good gut bacteria is important for keeping inflammation down, so probiotics
Simple non foaming face wash. I've found Byoma milky moisture cleanser really good.
You want to strengthen the skin barrier so no harsh products or exfoliation
The dema reccomended SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective serum. Very simple moisturiser.
Retinol once a week which helps to close the pores and reduce sebum production.
Treatments if wanted - micro dermabrasion, LED mask, laser for zapping blood vessels

Thank you so much for all of this- really helpful! I’ll transfer it to a shopping list x

Game changer for me - after 40 years of suffering- has been Aveeno gentle oat face cleanser.
Mine hasn’t entirely gone away for years, just remains controlled. My love for spice doesn’t help!

Edited

I hear you on the love for spice! And I’m not giving it up any time soon!!!

I use the Aveeno oat moisturiser and find it soothing but apparently it’s no good for gluten intolerance. I love the moisturiser but the cleanser did nothing for me I’m afraid.

Soolantra cleared mine up but took about a month of use before I noticed a difference plus a skin and me prescription/ subscription which sounds similar to the dermatica others are suggesting. I can now keep on top of it with cetaphil cleanser and la Roche posay toleraine moisturiser

Cerave is fantastic for what you describe.

Which particular range or products of Cerave please? I really rate them but have settled on the blemish control cleanser which is maybe too harsh?

Second the recommendation for Cerave. La Roche Posay toleraine range is excellent but slightly more expensive than Cerave. I also use The ordinary azelaic acid 10%

Which Cerave and La Roche Posay products please?

i had flushing as well as spots. GP prescribed doxacycline and metronidazole gel which didn’t do anything. I saw a dermatologist privately who prescribed metronidazole cream which resolved the flushing but didn’t help with the spots. I found oxytetracycline helped more than anything so had several lengthy courses until I got Soolantra when it was first available and luckily completely cured it for me. As an aside the lengthy courses of antibiotics also cleared up what I’d thought for years was irritable bowel but afterwards realised must have been SIBBO - every cloud….. 😊

I have same as you- flushing and redness. I used azealic acid which was good but found when it was at its worst any moisturizer would upset my skin. Tropic skin releaf moisturiser was the only thing that worked. Now my skin barrier is better I can use Inkey peptide moisturiser. The Tropic got too expensive but it was a life saver. You only need a little bit.So.it can last ages.

They refuse to refer me to a dermatologist🙄.

@ButtonNoseBunny

Why did they refuse to refer you, OP?
