Is Tropic skincare any good for rosacea?

ButtonNoseBunny · 23/10/2026 23:52

Hi, just looking for any personal experiences of people who’ve used this skincare brand please? It was particularly recommended for helping with rosacea. I just don’t want to shell out on something yet again to find that it doesn’t do anything to calm down the redness!

Has anything else particularly helped rosacea sufferers- medication or diet-wise? Willing to try just about anything at this point!!

They refuse to refer me to a dermatologist🙄.

@ButtonNoseBunny

Why did they refuse to refer you, OP?

DeclineandFall · Yesterday 12:03

I have same as you- flushing and redness. I used azealic acid which was good but found when it was at its worst any moisturizer would upset my skin. Tropic skin releaf moisturiser was the only thing that worked. Now my skin barrier is better I can use Inkey peptide moisturiser. The Tropic got too expensive but it was a life saver. You only need a little bit.So.it can last ages.

BizzyLizzyandLittleMo · Yesterday 11:33

i had flushing as well as spots. GP prescribed doxacycline and metronidazole gel which didn’t do anything. I saw a dermatologist privately who prescribed metronidazole cream which resolved the flushing but didn’t help with the spots. I found oxytetracycline helped more than anything so had several lengthy courses until I got Soolantra when it was first available and luckily completely cured it for me. As an aside the lengthy courses of antibiotics also cleared up what I’d thought for years was irritable bowel but afterwards realised must have been SIBBO - every cloud….. 😊

Second the recommendation for Cerave. La Roche Posay toleraine range is excellent but slightly more expensive than Cerave. I also use The ordinary azelaic acid 10%

Cerave is fantastic for what you describe.

Which particular range or products of Cerave please? I really rate them but have settled on the blemish control cleanser which is maybe too harsh?

Soolantra cleared mine up but took about a month of use before I noticed a difference plus a skin and me prescription/ subscription which sounds similar to the dermatica others are suggesting. I can now keep on top of it with cetaphil cleanser and la Roche posay toleraine moisturiser

Game changer for me - after 40 years of suffering- has been Aveeno gentle oat face cleanser.
Mine hasn’t entirely gone away for years, just remains controlled. My love for spice doesn’t help!

Edited

I hear you on the love for spice! And I’m not giving it up any time soon!!!

I use the Aveeno oat moisturiser and find it soothing but apparently it’s no good for gluten intolerance. I love the moisturiser but the cleanser did nothing for me I’m afraid.

I’d do one and then the other. Don’t be like me and drop dairy and introduce the Green People toiletries at the same time and then not know which one worked 🤦‍♀️

Eventually I got the courage to try different toiletries and it was the dairy Smile

Very good point!🤦‍♀️

@ButtonNoseBunnyi ended up going to a private dermatologist for treatment of rosacea and it's been life changing. Some wisdom to pass on:

Anti inflammatory diet as the inflammation isnt only skin deep
Good gut bacteria is important for keeping inflammation down, so probiotics
Simple non foaming face wash. I've found Byoma milky moisture cleanser really good.
You want to strengthen the skin barrier so no harsh products or exfoliation
The dema reccomended SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective serum. Very simple moisturiser.
Retinol once a week which helps to close the pores and reduce sebum production.
Treatments if wanted - micro dermabrasion, LED mask, laser for zapping blood vessels

Thank you so much for all of this- really helpful! I’ll transfer it to a shopping list x

Interesting about the dairy! I’m going to try cutting both dairy and gluten out to see if it helps🤞

Boots no7 do a range, white tubes, green lids. For skin conditions. Boots have the largest research & development budget by far.

Ah thank you- that sounds great.

my rosacea doesn’t look like acne to be honest (although it was misdiagnosed as that to start with).

No pustules or lumps/bumps, just severe flushing at just about anything, very sore and irritated and feels like it’s on fire.

Cerave is fantastic for what you describe.

JustaSongAboutPingPong · 24/10/2026 08:37

It didn’t help me much. I used the Green People and cut out dairy and my rosacea pretty much cleared up overnight.

Interesting about the dairy! I’m going to try cutting both dairy and gluten out to see if it helps🤞

OP, has your GP referred you to a Dermatologist at your nearest hospital?

They refuse to refer me to a dermatologist🙄.

I would add that I’ve found tropic to be very kind to my skin both before and after it cleared up.

ButtonNoseBunny · 24/10/2026 00:24

Yes to both. Soolantra didn’t do anything for me unfortunately but thanks for the suggestion. Did it work for you?

Yes, I was shocked! Ten days use and it disappeared after 10 years of embarrassment, upset, antibiotics and all sorts of topical creams and gels. So I always mention it if I see or hear people ask about solutions or helpful products.

Madickenxx · 24/10/2026 13:02

In answer to your question, I suffer from Rosacea and it has massively improved using Tropic. I think it’s quite individual, though so no guarantee a product will work for you just because it does someone else.

I use their hydrating cleanser, rainforest dew serum and the skin re-leaf moisturiser. The moisturiser is what made all the difference to me. In the winter I get dry skin so add their green oil (can’t remember what it’s called) and it’s perfect for calming my skin. They also do a correcting cream that’s brilliant for neutralising red skin before you put makeup on. It’s the best I’ve tried and I’ve tried plenty and a little goes a long way.

Dollysfriend · 24/10/2026 12:59

Kanzen skincare.

Boots, QVC US, Sephora etc

exhaustedandoverit · 24/10/2026 12:55

I find niacinamide to really make me flare up so if your current skin care contains it then drop it for a while to see if it helps. I used a new serum with it in last week by mistake and it’s really made my cheeks become very bumpy and red.

LittleGungHo · 24/10/2026 12:51

I liked it. They have a discovery kit hydrate so you can give it a go. They also now have specific product that I have not tried but I would.

whatsupluckyducky · 24/10/2026 12:29

Might be worth trying . I went straight to 20% and I would say within 6 weeks spots disappeared and redness on cheeks reduced .i bought the dermatica 20% and got it on Amazon . Also, it's a cream and doesn't dry your skin
